  1. and gas gas ive put mine down as a "Vespa"
  2. She rides better than some of my mates! cheers andy =] Tom
  3. They had actually done it. but TMX is used by pretty much everyone for knowing what events are taking place. I Believe that the club has a responsibility for letting people know if a venue they usually ride at wont be availiable to them. midland classics did do this and it was my fault for not seeing it. Also, is isnt always possible to get in contact with the land owner, so how else are you meant to find out? If the trial was open to everyone then I could understand, but if it is restricted to classic bikes only it can become a real problem for people who just want to practice. As for people saying I should have voulenteered, it never even crossed my mind! I will definatly do it though if I find myself in the same situation. especially for midlands classic MCC, as I owe them an apology! im not 100% sure on the rules though, will have to have a proper read up, dont want to upset any riders. All the best Tom
  4. Im selling my house if you fancy moving? you never know though, somewhere might crop up that you can ride. I met another greengrocer who happened to have some land in hathersage, he decided to get into trials and I ride up at his place every now and then, really good trials land and has only seen 2 motorbikes! Best of luck! Tom
  5. I didnt think id be able to do that because I was riding a modern bike? will definatly ask in future. Timp. Ive ridden once at eden fields before, I like it and its very close to where I live. I did my frist trial there about a year ago and didnt find the club very helpful, I was a bit lost and was asking for help but the organisers didnt have much time for me. since then I havnt fancied riding a Sheffield and Hallamshire trial. the observers were spot on though, helpful and gace some sound advice =] Tom
  6. My God, that is a hell of a drive! respect to you for still being in the sport! how often do you drive that far to ride? Tom
  7. Very good point but I dont think Dave Glover would appreciate people ringing him up all the time asking. I just pay my membership and (attempt to) read TMX. Either way, all this could have been avoided had I read the bloody paper right! its back to school for me! Tom
  8. I thought to myself "I better read it a few times to make sure, so I dont sound like a plonker", I must have read it about 5 times and I still missed it! damn, dont I feel stupid now.... I take back everything I said! Tom
  9. As with alot of people, Sunday is the only day I can ride. So I tend to make the most of it which is why today was especially frustrating! I got up bright and breezy at 7am ready for a proper days ride. I hadnt ridden last week due to repairs being done and the previous week was only 1/2 a day due to me breaking the swingarm so I was definatly ready for a good ride. I set off from my home in Chesterfield to Hawks Nest near Buxton. driving along the weather looked beautiful, nice and bright, dry ground and only a bit of wind. After an hours driving and arriving at Hawks Nest this all changed, the wind was crazy, Door was nearly ripped off the van as it was dragged out my hand. I promptly decided it would be worth the effort to travel to a more sheltered Burycliffe Quarry near Matlock. I arrived at Burycliffe 40 minutes later and was pleased to find there was very little wind. but instead of wind I was confronted with a Classic Trial. Being on a 2008 Gas Gas it was not an option to ride in this trial so I was forced to leave. I thought to myself "Hang on, I dont remember there ever being mention of a Trial at Burycliffe this sunday" so I whipped out my copy of TMX and had a look. Imagine my fury when I found that there was absolutly no record of this trial taking place. Had the lazy gits at Midlands Classics Motorcycle Club learned how to use a telephone and rang up TMX to inform them that there was a trial being held it would have saved me money in diesel and alot of time that could have been spent riding. I then travelled BACK to a very windy Hawks Nest and just made the most of it. I spent the rest of the day being mardy and riding very badly in the wind. Thanks Midlands Classic's for ruining my day! All the best Tom (still mardy)
  10. dragging the rear brake can free it up too (at least it did on the beta). Tom
  11. The two Ryan Young ones are great, definatly reccomend getting them both. Tom
  12. big one in the middle (should be on a spring and have a knurled edge to grip it with your fingers) is the tickover screw, screw it in and it makes it higher, out makes it lower. the other one to the left is the air mixture screw. not 100% sure which way does what because ive never felt the need to touch it. All the best Tom
  13. Ignition settings for the bikes =] not sure which is which but they let the rider know what setting the engine is on.
  14. Ello mate, ive sent you a message on your youtube account with my opinions on various bikes, hope it helps =] Tom
  15. Is it a Raga Replica? I heared the old magnesium swingarms were pretty brittle. also, That guy has no repect for his bike, see the way he just dragged it at the end? plank deserves a snapped swingarm! Tom
  16. LOL, it really is a marmite bike thats for sure. a few of my friends absolutly adore it.
  17. LOL, cheers Andy, I was looking at where it say's "forum rules" at the top of the topic posting page. no wonder I couldnt find it lol. All the best Tom
  18. I dropped a clanger earlier and broke the rules, Ive read them but It was a while ago so I just wanted to refresh and take a looksy at them again so I dont upset anyone! Problem is....I cant seem to find them anywhere! can anyone point me in the right direction? All the best Tom
  19. correct =] Ive looked at pictures of my long pipe and it looks exactly the same? Sorry to Andy for using that dealers name, I didnt realise it wasnt permitted. All the best Tom
  20. could be anything, <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> told me my sump guard on my new gas gas couldnt be anodised. yours obviously has so it seems like they just tell you whatever they want.
  21. I rode one bang out the box and it left a trail of fuel behind me every time the front end came up more than an inch. and im sure it was ugly last time I saw it probably needs setting up. Tom
  22. I was convinced he had designed the whole thing? I mean have you seen how UGLY it is?? **disclaimer** This was meant as a light hearted joke and no offense was intended, I have ridden the Evo and while it is not to my taste it remains an absolutly cracking bike.............Still leaks fuel though.........
  23. This is at Back Cowm Quarry, He went there on Wednesday to practice with Alexz Wigg. Facebook is awesome. we get to know what some of our favorite riders are up to! Nice to see a video that isnt full of everything going right. Thanks for posting it. Tom
  24. They do look very very nice dont they =] should have black rims or something though I think. Tom
  25. Alot of possitive comments here but Im afraid If We were forced to ditch our engines. I would quit the sport. I have a love for the internal combustion engine, the sound, smell and feel of it, not to mention the complexity is all a draw to me and something I dont feel an electric motor could replace. HOWEVER, If they became availiable aswell as our traditional petrol engined bikes I may consider it. If you could make it feel enough like a normal trials bike that is. This is purely for the no noise factor, I could practice in the woods next to my house and transfer it to the other bike, but thats only if they felt similar enough though, if they were very different Id probably find it does more harm than good. Keep us posted on your progress! All the best Tom
