  2. I do remember seeing something like this recently on here! im sure someone must know who makes them. It just sorta wrapped around the whole mid-section of the bike from what I remember, think it was shown on a Scorpa. Tom
  3. Im not sure about coating, but If you wanted the tubes, I seem to recall them being in the 100's each. Tom
  4. Sorry to hear that, Ill keep an ear out. I too had a rental car up there for thursday - sunday and I was so scared it would get damaged I took out the excess reduction which brought it down to 100 quid. hope Josh manages to get out more this year, he had a cracking ride and some very vocal supporters! '09 Raga

Ive taken a look at one and looked at the spec sheet, looks to me like it has tonnes more than the old ones did? it may not have the Ohlins shock but there is alot more other stuff to compensate. at the end of the day, GasGas are a business, they can charge whatever they want, they arent forcing anyone to buy it. In the end it will be the customer who decides whether or not they are being ripped off and ultimatly whether or not to buy it. If the list of Mod's isnt for you, id be tempted to spend the
  6. they are fantastic, and 100% waterproof but they are also very flexible (which is a good thing normally) Tom
  7. sounds like an expensive way of doing it but would it be possible to get an oversized boot and put an ankle brace on? I have the same boots as you and I agree that there is no support. my hebo's before were thicker but I wouldnt say much better. wish you hadnt mentioned curly wurly....im off to the shops now..... Tom

  11. I think you are going to get very mixed responses from people on this one. it depends alot of you as a rider. If the 280 is too much for you then you may want to downsize. Is it a GasGas 280? they are renound for being pretty harsh but it would be possible to tone down your bike rather than go looking for a different one. I have a 300, straight out the crate it was pretty nasty, but I stuck a flywheel weight on it and a 10T front sprocket and it calmed it down alot and made 1st gear usable in pretty much all sections. every rider adapts to their bike though, and for most people, in my opinion would find a 125 restrictive after a short time. I came off road bikes onto a beta 250 and had no problems but a few people on here seem to prefer 125's let us know exactly what bike you have and we can tell you how to calm it down a bit. All the best Tom

  14. I heared that they werent dispatching tickets until a week before the british world round so I didnt bother buying them. I was going to buy them tonight but they have stopped selling them online! this is along with camping too. does anyone know if ill be able to get camping still? It never sold out so im assuming I could still arrange it? also, how much extra am I looking at paying for tickets now? really annoyed with myself now. Tom
  15. both the first and second people to take this test offically crashed. the first broke his arm, the second just had a few scrapes! Tom
  16. have you tried john lampkins? he's the official importer for them, I would be surprised if he didnt have any! All the best Tom
  17. feels and looks great when its done right, becomes painful very quickly if the front is too low...... Tom
  18. I would think so, the robinsons are a sound bunch, very nice people, we camped over once. I know craig robinson goes (no relation) up in the evenings to practice after work but he's a family friend. the best thing to do would be to go and speak to Geoff (or Jeff?) down at the house and ask him if he would mind. Tom
  19. ello mate, hawks nest is pretty much always open, I ride there alot. Its

  21. my guess is you might get some stick off people on here too for riding on national trust land.... try to keep it legal if you can, I understand that places to ride can be scarce, I have to travel 40 mins to my nearest place (which in comparison to alot of people is nothing), but Im lucky that there is a few places I can ride and I know a few farmers who have good trials land. Best to keep it legal because it only damages us trials riders reputation and before long, we will be grouped up with the MX'ers* and Pit Bike Pikey's! *Disclaimer: In no way do I dislike or mean any ill will to Motorcross Riders, I very much admire their skill and confidence and hope one day I too will have no spleen...... All the best Tom
  22. depends entirely on how steep the front wheel is! if its gone past the point of no return and you have a little bit of forward momentum, a bit of rear brake should bring it back to earth. but most of the time I find I dont need the rear brake. just good throttle and clutch control at the top. if you are looking to get some real rear wheel height your front wheel has to be fairly low and you need to use tonnes of body and a few revs to get it to fly high. this is usually when you would need the rear brake. practice doing rolling "jap-zap's" (as ryan young would say) and grab your rear brake at the top. once that becomes more natural it shouldnt be a problem. All the best Tom
  23. Traditional I think. Whatever period of bike you ride, I think it should be ridden how it was intended to be ridden, and I think when most twinshocks were built, the intention was to ride them in more of a non-stop style rather than stop and hop. apart from maybe the top lads hehe. Tom
  24. What I should have said was........ "I maxed out the credit card I took out to pay for the SSDT in a spiral of SSDT rejection depression!" Tom
