  3. Hello Chris, Yes you have to take the forks apart but it,s not that complicated i started a thread on how to change seals you will find it on the next page. The people on this board are great and will help you if you have any questions. Cheers, Ed
  4. Welcome Mike, Mine has 03 world champion plastics but is a 2004 model. Post some pictures and people here will tell you exactly what it is there is a list somewhere on the net that has all numbers and years but i forgot where to find it. Cheers,
  5. Done i did a complete overhaul of the bike with help of this board. Big thanks go out to Jon and PeterB you guys are awesome !! i did all using the search button and your help with things i coulden,t find here. It,s fun to do it yourself and i learned a lot about how a trial is build doing the overhaul. WARNING if you take out the seals with the boiling water method let them cool off first or use cloves ! i diden,t and had the GasGas logo burned in my right hand for a few hours Thanks to all who posted their info here !   8. Jon i think you have found a new way to get the seals out did the other one with just boiling hot water and they came out the first hard pull ! You were right about me damaging the bushing with trying to get them out on the first one. The bushings looked fine on this one. Oh well i ordered new bushings for both and will keep the best as spares. Seals are in and the dustshields or on i used a plastic tube like the guy in the video showed works great to get the seals in there. Now for filling them ? Cheers,

  14. Yes the black is magnetic but wow there is a lot of it ! i,m pretty sure this is the first oil change on mine. Will use brake cleaner to clean things up and i ordered new bushings it,s hard to see on the picture but there are some pretty big scrathes on both. Waiting for parts now and need to get oil, i,m a beginner at trials what weight of oil should i get ? Cheers,

  16. Here is a picture of the bushings they both have the coating comming off. On one there is coating on the inside on the other the outside is coated. I must say the oil was really black en there was lots of sand in it ! what,s the best way to clean things out ? Cheers,
  17. Ha the poor trick worked !!! got the first out and will do number two just doing the poor trick. I poored a liter boiling hot water over the seal and let it cool off. One hard pull and out it came Need to clean up things first and will post a picture of the bushings i think one needs to be replaced it looks damaged. Thanks Jon ! Cheers,
  18. Still no luck Jon how long should it be heated. I tried a few minutes i could smell the rubber burning but it doesen,t want to come out. Just to be sure i removed the basebolt and removed the top nut and removed the cartridge. After that i removed the dustshield and took the snapring off thats all i think ? On the picture are the parts i took off the shock.

  21. Ok i got the interior out and the dustcap and snapring off. But i cant take the tube out ? on the gasgas video the guy pulls it out real easy with seal and all, tried a few hard pulls but no luck so far. Is there something else i should do first ? Cheers,

Nick did you see these videos http://d-mis-web.ana.bris.ac.uk/personal/H...f/media/gasgas/ ? they are for a GasGAs pro not sure if all is same like on your 80 model but there is video that shows where the pickup is. I remember the guy in the videos saying something that it should be clean. Maybe that is your problem ? mine had a new Ducati iginition last year with the same problems i hope you just have to clean the contacts. Cheers,
