    Red Dellorto

It's the new dellorto flatside 28mm, look on www.splatshop.co.uk, only trials dealer i've seen selling them
  2. Ahh yes - I see where you're coming from. Could always do the smaller event, ran alongside a larger event to begin with, just to see how many people actually have these bikes? Just use it as a basic way to see how much interest there may be, and you would lose no money if there was a small turnout as you still have the income from the larger event. Enough of a turnout, then go ahead and run the smaller events for children. That way, you're financially covered to an extent.
  3. Hey all, Sorry for the delays, but the regs are now available for the Ian Pollock Memorial Trial. Click below to download a PDF copy to print and send off yourself. http://www.lochabermcc.com/Ian%20Pollock%2...ntry%20Form.pdf If you would prefer to have a paper copy sent to you, please email or telephone the secretary. Jax - jhail@btinternet.com - 01397722270 If anyone would care to add this to the calendar for us as for some reason, the site wont allow me, 'nor recognise me. Updates will appear on the both the clubs website, and Facebook. Many thanks, Jamie

  5. Not sure what the take up would be exactly. Have you considered running it as a normal trial. With another 10 sections laid out in a safe area, maybe fenced off with temporary fencing from the rest of the trial. Covered by the same permit, no need for extra catering, same land. Means the kids can feel as if they're actually riding a 'proper' trial. More attractive for families, as the rider in the family can ride the trial, the child can ride the trial. And the wife can sit and read a book with a nice cup of coffee or something whilst keeping an eye over there child. Maybe if there's enough of a turnout, the non riding member of the family can observe on the childs sections. Maybe emphasise the child friendly part when advertising.
  6. I know it may seem silly and impossible, but check that the tube isnt twisted atall, simmilar problem a while back. Also, you should be able to let the air out straight away and it should hold. No crap on the tyre? No visible damage?
  7. Cant quite remember at the moment, will dig out the packaging tommorow!
  8. Big Log Kitchen Chair Beer Crates from the pub, they only have to pay to get rid of most of them Balance it on the sump on a wall if you have one As for making something, needs to be just over a foot high. Possibly more for fork work! If you plan on buying one in the future, get a lift stand. So much easier, got mine for
  9. Make sure there is some free play in the lever, or else the fluid in the caliper heats up, expands, and locks your brake on until it cools down. Sure someone will expand on this for me. If not, I'll check back and do it when I'm slightly more awake
  10. 100 ml of OKO tyre sealant went in mine when it had a slow puncture. Put the bike on the stand and spun the wheel on full throttle in 5th, to spread it evenly around the tyre. Didn't go down for months. Now, just to prevent a miserable ending to a trial, I put it in even when I dont have a puncture. Brilliant stuff, doesn't affect the feel of the bike atall. Wipes off the rim when you're done too Even the armed forces use the stuff. http://www.tyre-rite.co.uk/searchresult.aspx?CategoryID=33 Easy to put in the tyre too. Just take out the valve core, put the tube thats connected to bottle over your valve stem, and squeeze for a couple of seconds. Job done. Fill with your valve in the 2 o'clock posistion and it will seal your rim band too. Jamie
  11. Since when did the cat need retailed though, it was the bloody dog Can see why he cut the tail off.
  12. Simple answer - Yes. Of course a new bike will feel different, thousands of pounds of research and development dont go nowhere. But what I do think will make the biggest difference, is downsizing... As a beginner, a 200, or 250 would be plenty! Make you much less tired to ride, and much more controllable. Even champions dont need the big bikes. Some people dont get on with newer bikes, best to go along to a local trial, and ride a newer bike there, someone will give you a shot on theres without a doubt. It's all mainly down to personal preference. Bikes dont appear to of changed much from 06 to now, apart from tubular frames and that nonsense. Grab yourself, if you can, an 07 sherco or gas gas 250 and you'll progress no end, I can almost guarantee, will be much lighter, less of a handful, yet still with all the power you could ever need. Better geometry and suspension to the 01 bike. Best part being, they wont set you back that much, and are much easier to maintain! Pick up an 06 or 07 bike for around
  13. Undo the two pinch bolts on the bottom of the left hand fork, or right, cant remember, but it'll be obvious. Then an allen key in the spindle, and turn till it comes out of the threaded fork leg, then just pull/wriggle.
  14. Think the only acu approved stuff you'll find in that case is - motocross gear i'm afraid. Kids motocross boots are fine for kids, helmets may be a pain, but still better than nothing.
  15. not sure about boots, but everyone around here seems to use ski/snowboard helmets for their kids on the osets. Not sure about trials specific stuff at that size. Snowsports gear will be adequete for the speed and terrain faced on an oset.
  16. A guy walks into a bar with an octopus. He sits the octopus down on a stool and tells everyone in the bar that this is a very talented octopus. "He can play any musical instrument in the world." Everyone in the bar laughs at the man, calling him an idiot. So he says that he will wager $50 to anyone who has an instrument that the octopus can't play. A customer walks up with a guitar and sets it beside the octopus. Immediately the octopus picks up the guitar and starts playing Better than Jimi Hendrix. The guitar owner pays up the $50. Another customer walks up with a trumpet. This time the octopus Plays the trumpet better than Miles Davis. The trumpet-owner coughs up the $50. Then Jim, a Scotsman plonks some bagpipes on the table. The octopus fumbles with the bagpipes for a minute and then backs off with a confused look. Ha!" the Scot says. "Can ye nae plae it?" The octopus looks up at him and says, "Play it? I'm going to f*ck it as soon as I figure out how to get its pyjamas off." ________________________________________________________________________________ Copey and Gizza were walking across campus when Gizza said, "Where did you get such a great bike?" Copey replied, "Well, I was walking along yesterday minding my own business when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike. She threw the bike to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, "Take what you want." Gizza nodded approvingly. "Good choice; the clothes probably wouldn't have fit." ________________________________________________________________________________ For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way Windows has enhanced our lives, read on. At this year's computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, "If GM had kept up with the technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon." In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating: If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics: 1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day. 2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car. 3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull over to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason, you would simply accept this. 4. Occasionally, executing a manoeuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine. 5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive-but would run on only five percent of the roads. 6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation" warning light. 7. The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying. 8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna. 9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again, because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car. 10. You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off.
  17. Got my shock mounted shaft up on the 08. Seems fine, no clearance issues or anything!
  18. Stuck floats. Even if you've free'd them up, check them again, or hit the side of the bowl with a hammer. Your bowl is already full, but the floats are not rising up to knock the fuel off. Either that, or holes in your floats. Take them out and shove them in a beaker of petrol. Check if they actually float. If not, new floats are in order. Needle height may be way out, but thats unlikely.
  19. Cant see me no indoor trials on eurosport 2 for saturday? Just Nordic combined and Xc skiing.
  20. Seems to be that way, not had a problem since! New stat here tommorow hopefully, will do rear brake seals, new pads ect... Give her a proper ride and get back to you all!
  21. They can indeed. I've had a few go on different bikes. One staying on permanantly, one switching on once, then not again for the whole ride and one that doesn't bother switching on till 110 degrees... Strange little things, working off a simple principle. Guess they're a lot of room for stuff to go wrong somewhere along the line. Thanks for the help, Jamie
  22. Had a photoshoot with the club for the local paper : Bypassed the stat just to see if luck was on my side before I went, been riding all day and not a drop lost. Will get on and order stat asap.
  23. ATF 10w40 10w40 is the viscosity, Atf with that viscosity will do, some run 15w40. Any synthetic 10w40 oil will do though.
  24. Warm them up, if they're cold they will be hardly sticky atall, use a hairdryer, and warm them right up so they're soft! Apply, then keep the heat on them for a minute, then cool them down slowly... can do this by filling your tank with boiling water. Make sure to clean the are thoroughly!
  25. Cope, send me your paypal via private mail and i'll get some money across to you, as a gift so no fee's either. Roughly how much do I owe? $15 cover it? If they show up, consider the money a christmas gift and a thanks for all the help you've given this year.
