Mark, how would a £150 a year (or more) license improve trials ?

SWM's and earlier Aprilia's had the PHBH 26 FS carb that had a petrol screw, later Aprilia's have the PHBH26 FS which appears to have an air screw ? Are they any better, or just different ? The one I'm thinking of using has a small brass connection which I think was a vacum to remove any build up from the crank case, but didnt work and was usually blanked off. Can anyone confirm ? I took a bike to be registered (had to make an appointment) and as above it turned out to already be registered, got the old number back, and it was £25 as stated. (2/3 years ago) They wanted to see the bike in the flesh and wouldn't accept me quoting numbers.

Unfortunately I haven't read anything to change my original viewpoint. Some sports are more expensive than others, does that justify raising the price to compete ? Fairness isn't a factor. I had hoped to see a response from some of the clubs, as under the new regime, the SACU are making more money by the time a rider has competed in a few events, but if overall rider numbers are down, its the clubs that will suffer. We need the clubs more than the SACU,and there are alternatives ! If the price of anything is artificially high the principle of diminishing returns will become a factor. Ross
