Think we are agreed, but my point is its not just the rules.
-

-
But surely this is the problem, its not just the rules that are the problem with the BTC is it?

What is best for the sport and why?

Whilst it is not a spectator sport it would be good in this day and age to have a shop window.
things have moved on since I rode a btc in the 80's and the best lads can do stuff that is both spectacular and amazing just as the sucess of sheffield has shown trials can be watched by thousands.
Its not the FIM you have to convince its riders here in the uk (wasnt a poll split last time we asked stop or no stop?) and then France spain and italy. Good luck with that.
-
Now I must say that Thatcher ruined many things sold off the familys silver and installed greed is good for a generation, but I cant agree she is responsible for a price structure at Gas Gas?

Gizza has a bit of a point, although not "broken" the btc did have serious problems but the dash for no stop seems to have up set the customers both paying and riding, so who were the changes for?
The biggest mistake is that no one (and one of the ACU committee agreed with me) has clearly stated what was trying to be achieved by switching to no stop and how it would be measured success or not?
-
I wasnt there so I cant comment directly but my pal who was there last year and this said the crowds were only 10% of last year, no stop has not increased level of attractiveness.
Entries were down from last year.
Most importantly Ben has put his case clearly and as he has moved up a class was exactly the important part of the jigsaw as to whether the change to no stop would be a success.
i am assuming he would be thinking about either dropping down or dropping out, the opposite of what was envisaged when no stop was decided.

is it measure the pack 9.25 is light 9.75 is heavy?

oh fogot to say you need morphine for 48 hours after, and will proably sleep in a chair for a week or so

Had that and a bit more last september rode my first proper trial today. It talkes a good while to settle down, the key is having a good surgeon and more importantly a good physio, with regular attendence, good luck!

dont get me wrong I'm not saying we should have wi fi or internet. Without question I'm not saying trucks are a good idea, its just the fim have accomodated them.
Yes it is easy to get the impression that all trials are the same and whilst alot are similar some are very very different which is why I like poland and Northern Ireland, and the usa ( looks different never seen a trial there).
Whatever the sections its the wtc sanctioned by the fim we are where we are and whilst 100 plus entries happened in the 70's it will never happen again.
Things need to change, agreed but simple things like charging riders 220 euros to enter is too much, and making the also rans think twice.
we need crowds we need entries im not sure we need the 20k charge per event, and if there is an entrance fee then surely some o that should go to the riders?
-
.....except its a sherco lookalike?
-
You've never been to the polish round then?
Japan has been pretty muddy in recent years.
Italy always go through water.
Spains rounds in baoina and certainly the portugese rounds have mud.
One of the sections in La Bresse was very similar to what we have here in the south.
Nord vue is being used becuase the fim require truck access and they are the only ones to stump up the cash I'm guessing. If you know of a venue that would suit trials and trucks then suggest it
Wi fi is not crucial thats being silly.
