  1. My point is that a momentary pause once allowed then becomes half a second then one then two seconds. From all the btc's that ive seen and heard if the coc stood up and said in front of riders this is a no stop trial pause and you get a 5 then everyone knows where they are, not the try to get consistency thing, bloody enforce it or go back to stop allowed. As soon as riders see an observer give a 5 for the very first pause, job done. (I ride no stop a fair bit and you soon get to know the observers that mark to the letter) Not the joke it is now, pause half asecond no stop or a second no stop rules? This is where the disputes stem from surely? Its not the unpaid effort thats what we all do for the sport, and not relevent to enforcing rules, its just if the BTC is important enough we should decide what rules were riding to, and stick to them?
  2. A squence or in this case in sequence, means and would be defined as 1 2 3. 111 is not in sequence. If people dont know what in sequence means then they cant count. The next time someone argues this ask them what comes after 1, 2 or 1? Most importantly it refers back to my original statement insomuch that it is to sort out ties therefore an advantage can be gained by repeating sections not in sequece, or sequencially. Say your cheating and that might be clearer?
  3. A 4rt is different, not a carb. I always have a fast as above its too much turn for a blip on a 2t.
  4. tsr 18 covers this, and it is set out so as to make ties a fairest way to decide equal scores as much as anything. TSR18 OBSERVED SECTIONS The organiser must display which route each class is riding indicating the corresponding colours of the route marking. Details may be displayed at signing on, at the first section or contained in the Final Instructions or programme. Riders in the same class must all start at the same section. It is recommended that routes be marked as follows: Route 1 – Principal Route – Blue (left) Red (right) Route 2 – Yellow both sides Route 3 – White both sides Any further routes to be marked in a colour chosen by the Organiser. In the above, the letters denote the severity of the sections in descending order ie Route 1 would be hardest, Route 2 next hardest and so on. Routes may be marked in their entirety in the colours shown – or the Organiser may mark appropriate diversions in these colours. Ideally – the coloured section of markers should be in the shape of an arrow – with the point toward the centre of the section. No penalty shall be imposed on a rider who wishes to inspect a section before riding it. The lateral limits of an Observed Section or Sub Section may be defined by artificial boundaries such as markers or tapes, which shall be firmly placed and positioned in a way so as to clearly define the intended limits of the section. If tapes are to be used they shall always be clear of the ground but not exceed a height of 500mm from the ground. The Start and Finish of each Observed Section or Sub-Section will be clearly defined, with the Section Begins and Section Ends identified as such. Sections and Sub-Sections shall be numbered or lettered and ridden in the correct sequence unless otherwise instructed by the organisers. A rider failing in a Sub-Section must restart in a forward direction from the Sub-Section in which he has failed.
  5. it sounds like it shouldnt matter but does make a marginal gain (sky) and thats what we're after.
  6. you must try both before you buy the 4rt can be difficult in Belgium mud
  7. youve got a 2017 bike a few months before the 2018s.
  8. be careful with longer shocks, you are better making sure you have more travel as well.
  9. My magicals rusted in 6 months so better suited to dry climates.
  10. its cheating although not knowing the exact circumstances it may be genuinely not be to better a score. Look it up in the ACU rulebook basically you should ride sections in order lap by lap.
  11. The cylinder on the side is a reservoir for the rear shock, an ohlins engineer said its imposible to work properly without this, us mere mortals excluded. The clutches (until changed to diaphragm) on both Shercos and betas (similar design) were not up to the techniques of the WTC so from dougies time at Beta onwards you will see the works bikes often have different casings and therefore internals. Be careful what you wish for as I saw Cabbys fourstroke was tuned so much so it blew up in Sweeden in 08(?) in the warm up. Not quite sure how he even competed that day but thats another story of different rules for the Spanish I guess. Regardless as above if you have a current bike set up to perfection it will be far better than you unless youre Bou.
  12. wish this was still the old colonial one of my favourite trials, ever. The first one i rode on a mar ossa in 77 i think in north grimstone?
  13. YSS are very good as are Magicals
  14. If its covered in the rules why not enforce them?
  15. why? The BTC rules are "flexible" within events so why should riders be ashamed? At this level there is a necessity for rules to be rules, surely @b40rt you can see this?
  16. It's the observers at BTC and the coc who should be ashamed
  17. Anyone got draft trials calendar for next year?
  18. the links are all wrong if you message them via fb they reply,
