Is on a 330 montesa. Is running a bit rich

a bit rich can be adjusted, alot rich it needs jets, the needles as listed dont show a naph afaik.

To be completely honest a kehien on a 330 mont is a bit of a strange one as its a very docile bottom end.

No but if I knew  I was riding cold streams all day I wound probably set slightly higher at the start of a trial.

likewise wouldn’t park the bike in a stream then adjust pressures - Same  if I had just done a bit of roadwork

my guess is on all but the coldest days youre riding at 4.5psi rear and 6 front which is where i like to be, maybe 5.5 front if the trial has soft mud or cambers.

Looking at the muppets on the beach here in the sunshine I think trials is the least of anyone's worries.

If only common sense was more common.

what like not driving from london to durham when you have the virus?

It's an interesting topic. Going by the stats TC hasn't got any quieter over the years in terms of traffic (It is down over the past couple of months due to lack of news, but that will bounce back). Scroll down to the bottom of the forums and you'll always see a large number of "lurkers".

The main reasons TC has become very bike focused is partly down to a very knowledgable and helpful user base (for which I thank all contributors) and the work that the forum software providers have done in search engine optimisation. If you have a problem with your bike, do you go to Facebook? No. You go to Google with your problem and you will always find TC very near the top of the results, and more often than not the top result. It's the gap in the market that TC is filling very well. There is no other resource like it for Trials.

There has been much debate about the place of forums in the world of anti-social media and there is absolutely a place for them. If you want arseholes, self-professed "experts" on every subject under the sun and pictures of people's cats, head for Facebook. If your topic is of a more important nature, use a forum.

Interestingly, I did some research a few months ago as I was working with a charity that had abandoned their website and gone 100% Facebook. Only roughly 65% of people in the UK use Facebook so that was over a third of the potential donating public they were completely ignoring. The core Facebook platform is also in decline. They're clever at hiding that fact as they bundle WhatsApp and Instagram users into their published user counts and both of those Apps are still growing so it hides the decline in Facebook itself. The charity now has a website again and it's brought in a substantial amount of money since relaunch.

    interesting insight Andy.

Tried venting the tank, tried running it with choke on, changed plug. Was advised by a good gasgas guru to send the stator to Bradford ignition services so that went this morning. p****d off with it tbh, and im told its a common fault with this type of system on this year of bike.

Its not a common problem, with any year. who told you that?

Dont send anything away till its proved faulty.

My two, one needs rings, the other mains, plus a complete rebuild on a mate's bike hat's been standing for about 30 years and must have had a hard life in the first 10

    Glutten for punishment.............

  8. With a gas gas it is definately technique first. I know the jetting in the us is hit and mis because of the variation in gas, but feel this much more likely to be a clean running issue than a starting one. As above watch some one else starting a gasser and get them to do the same technique to yours? Basically spark and gas it will fire up, factory jetting shouldnt affect this greatly?

He was always going to be "Damned if he did, Damned if he didn't"

if he acted on the scientific advice he was given, then that's all he could do!

i guess this year's Summer Series is off then?

He didn't act soon enough. He didn't get PPE or ventilators ordered early enough. They lied this last weekend about numbers of tests. I know a nurse in Manchester who is self isolating for a second week cos she's not had a test. Too many mistakes and inaction.

  10. As both are put together by humans its impossible to say, maybe the bike that is built first after a siesta? I would think its more likely to be what time of day as much as anything. Most dealers have a pdi which covers most of the items that need attention, if you get a good dealer that might be the greasiest?

Average gets lower every year .

Every year there’s more “legends” turning up on a tricked up “new” pre65 to have a go at winning a trophy in the highlands!

These pot hunters turn out once a year plus the odd practice for this event and then go back to their modern bikes.

It will spoil it and the need to take marks of these “Winners” will eventually drive the stalwarts away and when they’re gone do you think the “new legends” will care about pre65 trials?

    Anyway, a great call

What seems obvious, not my suggestion, entries are accepted on an age basis with all over 65's given a ride any spaces given to over 55's and so on.....

Trials is relatively non contact, with pretty low attendances. UK wise, I can only really see concern over two trials, the 6 days and the world round in July.

you cant see people coming from lots of different communities isnt a problem?

Not one to be political, europe has halted all sports and taken drastic measures to try and halt the spread.  Whilst not particually concerned personally about catching it having read up, I do however feel its irrisponsible of the Acu to have let events go ahead this weekend along with the rugby and other sporting events. The only way to curb this is to get on top and quickly like Italy Spain and France have done, or trying to do.  Being brave and brassing it out.. might not be the brightess option. This is serious, and the sooner the world gets to grips with it the sooner we can get back to normality.   I am confined to my house and garden at the moment for the next fortnight, only out for food, and essentials, with huge fines if caught, not observing the rules.. we are all in it together.. remember that.

Its not to halt the spread, you cant actually do that its to slow the spread down so health services can cope. UK hasnt, more old people will die as a direct result.
