It makes you wonder with hindsight did the British firms have their heads in the sand in 62/3 /4 when others were considering lighter 2 strokes as a the way forward?
-
No mountains in your backyard!
-
Honda uk may be, but rr available in mainland Europe?
-
With so many new brands with new ideas the chances of them getting going again are very very slim to no way.
I cant imagine the sweedish market being the saviour of any brand, even if bikes were available to buy.
Top trial gave up on the team as soon as the money ran out?
-
do it after dak with a sheet over no one will know.
The gypsies do it all the time.

40 years in the south of england is a different experience. Based my answer on knowing what bath (uk) mud is like!
-
Apologies, no one will use them in wtc then?
So am i correct in saying there are 5 models? if these are in various ccs then thats 15 models?

Have a look here dont know where you got your information from? Certainly the only bars prohibited are Carbon/kevlar.
-
Ossa has gone get over it.
-
Always try to get grip by spinning a 125 to let it labour is a recipe for failing. 250cc and above different thing.
-
With a 125 the general technique would be spin back wheel
-
-
will it be acceptable for LDT's though?
-
If youre not bothered why comment? Come on Ian youve had some really good results on your gassers( http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/27131-ian-margetts-wants-to-ride-my-beta/),get the Ossas sold to twinshock giles grab a gas gas / Beta and then you too can lighten up?
-
No i meant why does no one at the factory know yet. Clearly if there was not one bike at the dbs and there are no semi production bikes with importers riders as tasters/promo then peeps cant say "i'll wait for that it looks good and sounds great and goes well". but nada.
-
I was saying legal for the trailbike series.
We all know that as an additional bike for us it would be good but whose got 7k to splash out on a bike with few places to ride it?
As staed above niche within a niche and you cant even use it in trials really as the swinging arm is longer and cheap forks........
Be surprised if Honda uk even bring it in especially with their track record on the 4rt
-
I really really dont ever dispute that one bike (in this case ossa) suits one person more than another, or at least we think thats the case, so be it!
What i said in a nutshell is that as a bike which appeals to enough people to sell to keep the brand alive just didnt happen.
FWIW if i loved them as much as you do, id watch out for them for sale cheap and buy one for spares.
Will do the same with my gasser if the reincarnation doesnt hapen.
-
Im assumming sometime when driving your van around delivering stuff Ian youve seen the Gas Gas factory, even you can work out it isnt cheap to open the doors, let alone develop and build an enduro bike that didnt sell well, have a big truck at wtc and so on?
You may regard the ossa differently because you have one but that shouldnt preclude you from being objective about it.
How many sold in the east midland centre in the years they were going?
-
It was not "a great bike" or else it would have sold well.
Look at the ossa starting thread, listen to the sound it made at the wtc up close when it first came out, didnt it have plain bush bearings in the rear wheel, and thats without the importer swapping gearboxes halfway round the SSDT.
-
sales where? If they had sold ok they wouldnt have lost a decent wtc rider in fajardo, the truck would have kept going they wouldnt have ended up in the gas gas factory etc etc.
Theyre dust
-
ffs put your location in the world PLEASE
-
Maintenance for a 250 gasser isnt any more for a newby and you should learn how to do these things anyway.
Guess a 250 gg is easier to sell on and im guessing the 05 4rt is overpriced.
Easier to ride and learn on too
Get the gasser.
