  1. Sounds interesting, where can I view "Bloody Hell"?
  2. We never saw this 6 spoke mag wheel model here in the states. The earlier model with normal spoke wheels was sold here but as a Cagiva. The 3 spoke wheel came later as a Merlin. It seems to me that moving the footpegs "down and back" was the normal mods on the 80's bikes. The front end would feel lighter but steering wasn't quite the same. All that seemed to change for me when the Beta TR-34 was introduced ( although I never owned one ). I remember thinking how much further forward the pegs felt, but everything seemed to work good as a package (except wheely turns)
  3. Since when is this a "free speak forum". When people are banned for speaking the truth which happens to hurt someones feeling, its more like a girls school. But I Love it!
  4. There was still some development going on as late as Feb of "85. Some new ideas and some borrowed tech. Mostly for the Pursang. The Sherpa had not changed much except for shock and swing arm mods. Maybe some borrowed tech. could have helped them through rough times and into the future?
  5. Watching the main event was great racing......but what about a video of the TRIALS BIKE CLASS?
  6. Watching Bernie practice in the late 70's was impressive but never left you with the feeling that what you were watching was impossible. Unlike watching some of the current top riders which leaves you wondering where the sport will go in the upcoming years. Sure age has something to do with this as my son thinks its all possible. Was it better then...ya I guess.
  7. Did anyone on the team take any pictures that could be posted? A pictures worth a thousand dabs!
  8. I give up......what is going on?
  9. Read the article and I think " the observer" is right on this one.
  10. Whats the story on the Japanese DNS?
  11. I am sure someone can give you exact details but I believe the points should break 2.5 mm BTDC. You can also scribe a line for this measurement to verify with the timing light, but you need a spark plug hole mounted dial indicator to find this location on the flywheel. Anything close to TDC should at least start the engine. PS Any condensor should work. We used to use one out of a '75 Honda Civic as it was small and would fit easily near the coil. We would mount 2 in case we had one fail, you would just switch the connectors which would hang down near the spark plug cap. This would save having to pull the tank. If you go through all this trouble, I promise you will never have a condenser fail.
  12. Try this..... Scribe a line on the flywheel and a corresponding mark on the case.....TDC. Remove spark plug.......rear wheel off the ground. Connect a Inductive pickup ( attaches over spark plug wire) timing light. Connect timing light leads to 12V Batt. Have a friend turn rear wheel........You will get an idea of your spark signal at kick speed and also a rough idea of you timing setting. You can get exact timing reading if your timing light has an advance setting indicator. Most auto shops have this style timing light if you know a mechanic.
  13. Whats clear is you should have said this the first time.
  14. Perhaps you could translate this into ENGLISH or at least tell the rest of the story.
  15. I think we can all look back to our beginning years of Trials and count the large amount of people who have come and gone. Only a small percentage (AKA diehards) of people stick with anything let alone Trials. If I was the last person on earth, I would still enjoy riding my Trials Bike where as some people want to belong to a group, club, like the look of the bikes, or just want to try a different form of motorcycling. Its all good, but as time passes,I think turnover rates for riders will only increase for a lot of reasons.
  16. Front motor mt. bolt is my guess
  17. Has nothing to do with bike sales.....Honda wants World Championships and Trials Championships are the cheapest compared to any other form of motorcycle racing!
  18. This is a great test which usually produces some result unless you have no Ign Spark at all. If the Ign spark is weak at cranking speed, don't ignore the spark plug cap or wire as a problem.
  19. With most Nations Organizing Bodies Supporting their TDN Team, why is the US Team still depending on donations? No Support from the NATC, or is there? Nobody I have talked to even knows the Bank Balance of the NATC. Is this private information, and if so.......who is calling the shots? Sorry if I am stirring the pot as this post is not meant to attack anyone, only the lack of information.....
  20. What a great way to experience the World Trials Scene. And an excellent family vacation. Congrats to Eric and the Storz family.
