Cheers Dags - I intend to soften the power as much as possible via the PTB. How easy is it to alter the ignition maps. I suppose you are right with the ride it and see approach, but is the preload adjustable on the forks? Mrs D does have a sister - any more questions?

Hurrah, Mrs Dabber has gone and ordered a Repsol for my birthday. (should have arrived 3 weeks ago, but still hasnt). In terms of setup I plan to detune it and lower the gearing to make ait as soft as possible. Today's question is how adjustable is the suspension? I weigh abour 16st and want to wind it up so that it's bashplate doesnt drag all the time.

Most secure way is to hook a strap to a point inside the car boot, shut the boot then pull tight against a piece of foam and fix another strap or two to the forks. Hey presto! No movement at all.

I went to the day and agree partly with the original post. I suspect the tenner was to put off tyre kickers, but must also have gone only part of the way to covering the days costs. Hotel must have charged, six bikes on the go constantly, memebers of staff looking after booking in and the bikes. Sandifords were very unlucky with the weather, but a couple of points: Freezing cold bacon butties is disappointing when the blurb says catering on site. Only one dealer there - Appleyards selling discounted 05 bikes as well as new!! I think that's called mixed marketing messages? Bit of a waste having your 7 time world champ holding down awnings rather than riding a bike. However did think there was enough land to go at to form a view on the bikes and will probably buy one in due course. New or secondhand or discounted - who knows?
