Lordy - I used to cart a TY Mono all over the place on the back of a Citroen AX Gt! At night the hedlights werent much good as they pointed skywards even with them adjusted down. It was a company car.

Brilliant as Spain etc were to watch Luxembourg definately added to the flavour of the event. Watching them practise was real heart in the mouth stuff. Crashing was of the highest order! Also good to see the Irish boys taking on complex carbohydrates in the form of fish and chips whilst waiting to ride the Port Jack section. Well done IOM lot - a well organised event.

Was skiing in Verbier earlier this year - the guy who had been teaching me stopped to chat to some bloke parked up on a quad when we were walking back into the village from the lift. The guy happened to be Colin who was sussing out one of the long pistes to drive UP it in a Nissan pickup the following day as a publicity stunt. He didnt make it all the way up, but lordy if you had seen what he was having a go at!! He had evidently caused chaos the day before by setting fire to some paper napkins under his mates seat in a restaurant. Very sad to see him gone as I think he had a Dakar win or two in him which he was in preparration for.

Easy now! Flights were booked ages ago. Staying at the in laws flat directly above Port Jack. Will be able to sit on the balcony sipping G&Ts watching trials. No wife, no kids.

Just back after being there for a week - weather wasnt that bad, but was misty over the mountain which stops the safety copter flying. If you dont like bikes the IOM is NOT the place to be this week - simply amazing numbers of all sorts of bikes / nationalities etc. Good to see a few trials lads pootling up and down the prom though. Colleys slot on the prom was pretty good too and if youve never seen a jet powered quad youve never lived! Simply nuts.

....and Uncle Philip aint doing bad for an old bloke.

6th is my guess - the top five are fairly well matched and are well ahead of the rest. Bou and Lampkin have the best mental strength, but Bou seems to have moved the game on technique wise. Cabestany seems to have the talent, but is inconsistent, Raga certainly has the talent, but is too temperamental - didnt dominate last year. Fuji? world's best runner up.

Looking at the British Champs result made me wonder where Grimbo would fit into the current WTC standings. He was comfortably ahead of Morris and seems able to beat Dabill in norman nationals?
