  1. Now where was that thread debating whether you need a 300 or not?? This year just has the feeling of the next generation starting to make inroads into the old guard.
  2. Three winners over four events. Looks like the BTC may be a little more interesting this year. Also signs of a change with the younger riders such as Billy Bolt moving up a bit
  3. http://davestestsandarticles.weebly.com/uploads/4/8/4/5/4845046/dbrjun86ssdt.pdf No chance of anyone riding a 50 now??
  4. Never see any comment on fork springs. Are stiffer ones available to match the stiff shock spring?
  5. muelle de retorno kickstart should do it No? I wouldn't be thinking of dealing with Spain direct although it's possible. Intention would be to deal with my local dealer who would have online access to a parts catalogue and hold a small stock of parts like most do now.
  6. With the efficiency of distribution these days why would a 'boutique' set up like Jgas need a UK importer? Dealers could just work direct with the factory/third party distributors.
  7. Lordy. I credited the TC massive with the brainpower to make an informed decision as to whether it may or may not be a good idea to respond. If we just bury our heads and just ignore stuff like that we may as well save time and take up wild flower collecting.

His whole look is exactly the same as in the Red Bull ice hotel video (i.e. no strong Jitsie branding too) but does seem odd.

  11. EVIDENCE SOUGHT ON GREEN LANES The CLA in the North is asking to hear from members with experience of vehicles, such as 4x4s and motorbikes, using green lanes as the Government sets up a new working group to look at the issue. The Green Lanes Environmental Action Movement (GLEAM), which is expected to be represented on this group, is seeking information about problems in as many areas of the country as possible to convince both the Government and potential allies on the group about the seriousness of the issue. If you have any examples of problems with green lanes, please email xxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxx.org.uk and we will pass this on to GLEAM. Please send: · Digital photos (with dates) of problem green lanes showing the nature of the problem, e.g. damage, limited width, poor visibility etc. Please identify the green lane by providing grid references for its start and its end, and the name of the county, unitary or National Park authority where it is. Please also include the two grid letters (identifying the 100km grid square) found on the diagram on Ordnance Survey maps, and the name of the lane if it has one. The route should be one that has current or recent (within the past five years) problems with off-roading. Although if you have older photos to show what a currently damaged route looked like before it was damaged, these would be useful to compare with your current ones. · Identification of green lanes or areas where there used to be problems, but they have been resolved, and how they were resolved. For example, by police activity (including use of Section 59 Police Reform Act 2002), by traffic regulation order, by reclassification as Restricted Byways, or by NERC Act 2006. Please also let us know the nature of the resolved problem, the grid references of the lane or name of the area, and the local authority. DO NOT CONTACT THESE PEOPLE - SEE BELOW!
  12. Best bet would be to fit a decent MTB headlight. Hope or similar. Not cheap, but effective.

    Gas Gas Future?

As has already been mentioned whether GG are market leaders or not if they aren't turning a net profit over a period of time the music will stop. Maybe best we can hope for is for an administration that allows a Phoenix co to start afresh on a much smaller and sustainable scale. Can't be good for JST and their planning as a business particularly since the Enduro line was removed from them. Can't be a relationship between GG and JST of100% sweetness and light already can it?
  14. When was the last time we had a decent foreign rider in the BTC? Raga in the nineties Might just keep Dibs on his toes?

    Shock Bushes

Looking for a couple of shock bushes - Inmotion or SM don't stock the bushes alone. Any ideas?
  20. it's certainly a tricky one. I watched the BTC and what strikes me is the seeming addiction by certain riders to keep hopping the back wheel when there's really no need. Browny and Dibs seem to be able to cope with 'tick riding' still and the likes of Dan Thorpe just ride tight turns without the farting around. As both Dabster and Greeves said the application of the rules is a lot of the problem (whether stop or no-stop). I do actually prefer no-stop as its clear that mistakes are now punished rather than a rider being able to stop, sort themselves out, line up perfectly etc and there's areal art in keeping going when out of shape. The big question, however is, who are the rules for? Spectators? No, we forget how miniscule the specator numbers are even at WTC level and I bet the bulk at Bootle last weekend were family members/pals of riders. The rules therefore should be set to allow marks to be taken from riders at all levels that is easily understandable and marking a 'stop' isn't hard. Yes there will be mistakes, but if riders know they will be 5d for stopping they wont do it. Tough for observers to stand their ground - see . Blindingly obvious it was a stop, but Raga and the crowd were putting pressure on the observers.Other motorsports have changed rules to make them more manageable/accessible, mainly to the machinery (how fast could F1 and rally cars go if they were de restricted?). Time to look at bikes? No answers, just my thoughts................
  21. Thanks - that looks a great trial, but unfortunately it's going to be too far to work for me on that day. Will keep up to speed on the CNW site.
  22. Anything on in North Wales/Anglesey over the bank holiday weekend?
  23. What a good ride out that was. Short lap at Warmden makes for a bit of queuing but doing 100 sections in an afternoon is good for the concentration! Cheers to Darwen for organising and for the observers for sitting in the fog and rain from 2.00 until 7.30!
  24. So with Pidcocks retiring from the role any news on who is next in line? Presumably spares etc can still be ordered from Caroline Sandiford can they?
