The 04 and 05 SY 250 that are shipped direct from France to Australia have the flywheel lightened by 450 g from the earlier bikes. The timing marker is advanced fully to the stopper as well.This must be done at Scorpa as the mark is clearly visible where it has been screwed up hard previously.Some of the riders over here retard them back to achieve a smoother idle and stop the tendancy for the motor stalling.Have just received the 05 and will be fitting a 220g flywheel weight and slightly retarding timing to achieve a smoother responce.

Hey Jay, I had the same trouble with my pinkie 250 Yamahas.When ever I practiced hard on the big rocks ,the next morning the bash plate would be holding oil from the pressure on the engine case.It was a pain because the more times you pressed the bash plate back into position the weaker it became.On my 01 and 02 SY Scorpa had the same happen again an put in a thicker rubber absorber which did not help,finally came to the same conclusion as Ringo," Technique "improves problem disappears.

Well thats good news about selling your 600.Trials bikes,especially new ones are pure pleasure there not finnicky.Just remember no matter what you ride.the machine will only do what you tell it too.Hopefully you will get the bug and if you get a 350 and develop your skills more you will appreciate the capabilities of the new bikes.Dont go crashing that race car or you will never have any bucks to buy anything,

Looks a pretty neat package.How does the ground clearance compare with previous SY 250. It looks to be lower ,or maybe its the angle of pic.
