  1. How do you solve a problem like Maria!! Hello lass, will you be coming over to the colonies again??? Looks like they are a little worried you may beat them in that part of the world, you pays your money and takes your chance, ride lass.
  2. Model shown came from the factory like this
  3. Keep in mind the downpipe is different with the oilcooler for clearance
  4. Oil cooler. yes it does help, also gives the bikes a little more oil capacity as they don't hold much standard. It was an option the oil cooler set part number 06150-NN0-700 My bike does have one on so I will go and take a picture and post it under this topic
  5. And seat position housing a carinthian leather ass warmer
  6. Due to a struggle with a leaking rimband I think it led to a better bumbag mounting system. Can be located as a tankbag or seatbag, and is secure, all thats needed is a knackered rimband and a (S) type hook.
  7. One thing on a similar note, as Lounger points out, buy a smaller pickup, only thing wrong with this is! nine times out of ten it will be a foreign job, good for reliability, good for gas mileage, bad for the US workforce. The US without doubt is the worlds best market place, man can they spend their hard earned, trouble with this is all the jobs and products are farmed out in other countries for cheaper production costs. I would think it would be more productive to make the effort when possible to buy American, old Maggie preached this for years in the UK, and it does make sense, a cheaper product is attractive if it does the job as well as, but it's still too expensive if you can't earn the money to buy the product.
  8. Can't help it lads! whats the bloody point of a mud flap mounted so high? this being an air cooled motor it isn't a problem, but anyone riding the scottish, needs to mount it a lot lower to keep the radiator clean. Remember Jordi, blowing the proto zero
  9. A rear tube would be a lot cheaper, just use it in cases like you mentioned, it will seat your tyre and get you back on your bike untill you can sort it later.
  10. Steve link to this picture on another topic. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=149 It was taken at the points event near your house, I rode the senior 35, Larry, Billy D, all the steady old gits, won by a long way on sat, and 2nd on sun, on the bike.
  11. Some poor bugger who rides trials is going to receive 3 million bloody emails saying the same thing in the next ten days The plan sounds good and could work except many would rather pay the extra than drive across a busy road to the other brand station.
  12. The best tune-up on any bike once they get a year or two old is a new center box and rear exhaust, bit spendy but well worth the $$ to get her running like new. New the bikes can breath properly, the whole system is clean and the correct volume of exhaust is allowed into the chambers, after time build-up of oil and carbon the system volume changes so we start tweaking jetting and other stuff to compensate, carb, reeds, straight pipe and time to dial it all in probably won't give as good a results or a better price than the exhaust change.
  13. They just run on your PC, REAL TIME, or sumet, they won't run on a DVD player, the phototrial is all pictures and reports of the 2000 championship by Mario Candellone. I don't know owt about CD's and such, but I thought only Video and DVD need a different format, or does that apply to computer CD's also? American to European.
  14. The lad said he had contacted the trials shop!! hey Fraceman, I have lots of new original goodies for that scoot of yours, and the nice part is I'm useing the 82 retail price list.
  15. Well I hope the FIM see that 15 riders worldwide isn't enough, and with some homework from the past, it could be quite possible to get many more riders, from more countries competing, it sounds like the 125 class will only be possible if they ride the same sections but miss the silly stuff like mega steps and leaps, wouldn't it make sence to open that B line to the top riders from other countries who are good riders but not one of the super riders. Mi thought isn't to raise the bar for the B line riders but over time tone the A line down, giving more a shot at doing it.
  16. I will donate, 4 trials tv goldendale world round CD's and one Phototrial CD all never opened, I will bring them with me when I come over and give them to you Andy, then you can do with them what you wish.
  17. Wanted an ign coil for a 82 240 Fantic, the small one the HT lead plugs into, I understand it's a six volt system. Who would be the best person to contact.
  18. From what I gather and I do own one, hand built frame by Colin Seeley, Factory RS motor, now known as HRC, only 400 made, very expensive when they came out in 78-79 more info and pictures at this link below http://rtlr.club.free.fr/
  19. Have you got the hotel booked for May? look forward to seeing all you lads.
  20. Boyd, what was DL practicing! the high jump or the potato race.
  21. They feel like a latex rubber glove but made from Nitrile, or that's what it says on the box, for people who are allergic to latex. Same as you BS, Mmmm suits you that abbreviation I also get arm pump more when riding in gloves, found it's a little better if I leave the straps loose, think they must restrict the blood flow more??? but it's a case of lesser of two evils, that bloody highland cold restricts the flow too.
  22. Glove condoms, I have been testing some exam gloves, liberated from the wife's truck to see how they work. I tried the latex ones but they fall apart too quick, this pair pictured below have done four days of practice and a tire change plus bike washes and a section clearing so have past the durability test. They fit over your riding gloves keeping them dry and clean but allow you full feel of the controls so you are able to ride the sections and work on your bike without taking them off. Using waterproof gloves on the road in the ssdt can be a pain taking them on and off plus I found them too numb for riding the moor, anyway I think I have found what I will be using this year, with a box of 100 and they roll up into a small ball, should be able to take a few spare in mi bum bag. This is the largest size so if you have really big hands they wouldn't fit
  23. How do you start to explain a week of trials I can fill you in on a few things but will probably miss a lot more. If you get to Fort William on sat, make sure your bike is secure sat night as no provisions are made to guard the bikes until they have cleared inspection on Sunday. Sunday weigh in day, first thing some lads do is go for a ride and a quick practice, make sure you can practice at that area, you don't want to be out before your in, the Sunday rev is mainly to check out the bike for those who haven't had chance before hand, an hour steady ride up the road just to seat in the new bikes a bit afore full action on Monday isn't a bad idea, keep in mind plod will nail you if you do owt stupid. Rite it's off down to the Milton, to get sign-on sorted, and sign on for the event, make sure you have your ACU card and all paperwork mentioned on the info packet you will receive when all the final entries have been sorted will be a few weeks yet. You will get your number plate, T shirt, program, and kiss from the secretary after you sign on, they will also tell you what time the parade will start, you then go back to the parc-ferme put your number on your bike and the bore and stroke on the engine in permanent marker near the head on the top of the case, pass inspection and wheel your bike in to the secure area, they will line you up when it's time for the parade and just follow the 279 bikes in front of you, after the parade when you get back to the parc-ferme, you fill up with fuel at the fuel stop inside the Parc-ferme, then the officials will show you where to put your machine inline for the Monday start, and say good night to your baby as she will be sleeping out in the cold and rain for the rest of the week. Back into the trade stands for BS and a laugh with the lads, then off to your hotel for dinner and orange juice Monday, get up early feeling good after quite night and a couple of juices, have breakfast, and depending on what time your out, go down the P-F to watch a few lads away, they allow you in about half hour before your start time each day so you can work on your bike, not needed on Monday but after that you will have plenty to do in your pre start time to keep you on your toes. Your off, when it's time an official will call your number 5 min afore you are due out, you can't start your bike until it's your time to go so don't try, he will say when you can start it and on your minute will say "have a good ride" give you your time card and away you go, look after this card. Leaving the P=F on your bike you come onto the roundabout and look for course markers L = turn left, R = turn right, SO = straight on, orange flags on moors or the road to let you know your still on course, it can be a few miles so don't panic but if your worried slow down a bit and see if anyone catches you up. Arriving at the first section first day first ssdt, your going to be a little shaky with all those folk watching, so give it a quick once over and ride you will settle down once you get a few groups under your belt. Time Card, if you get to a group of sections and there is a lot of riders about go to the official first and ask is there delay, if they say yes hand him your card, he will write down the time you arrived and the time you restart your ride, so listen for him to call your number if you miss he will mark your time on your card and put it on your bike. Your time card has a lot of info on it, times, map of course, section groups and how many sections at that group plus your times for starting, finishing, and delay for the day, When you ride a group of section after the last section in the group it will say end of hill, note what group you have just ridden and what is the next group, they go A,B,C,D,etc. This is how it will go all week, don't waste time, but don't try go to fast, ride at a level what's comfortable for you, it's a fair time given each day that can be ridden at a sensible pace, if you are riding with your mates, you can help each other to an extent, but don't wait and watch them ride each section two three lads will slow each other down by an hour per day if you watch em ride, ride it and start going steady to the next section until they catch you, if they or you breakdown, do what you can but it doesn't make sense for you all to time out. It's a great week and event and course are for the clubman, most can and do finish. Bloody hell of a week.
  24. Getting a bit soft BS? letting them sleep in the house you'll be feeding the buggers next.
