  1. And I'm stuck up here working on Subaru,Hondas, and Nissans
  2. Had these made, close enough for me! I'll work on getting something to make the stripes out of and finding a close enough fluorescent yellow to paint the faded tank :-) And oh by the way, I swapped on a Oko carb that my wasn't happy on my 240 and the 309 LOVES IT! smooth-smooth-smooth! and major bonus! Stopped all the Rattling! I'd rate it quieter than a TY yamaha now :-) No need to tear down and rebuild!!!!!!!
  3. What a beauty! But to prevent bad luck you should always give a penny in return for a knife
  4. Not To far from Mike and AnneMarie,Expect to see ya at The Tilton Trials next spring!
  5. Sounds like she's getting hot, Possibly clogged exhaust? Maybe too lean on pilot jet? Ty350's do that if you try to trail ride them,if allowed to cool off just a bit as if walking a section they do fine.
  6. Replaced the needle valve,we'll see if she's under control now. Never seen a Section so didn't know about the carb access.Don't think keihin or Oko makes anything with right side adjustments. Haven't tried Boyesens yet,my Sherco is jetted well and runs smooth, I've just started messing with the 309 again,If the Oko does as well away from home as it's doing in the back yard I might be tempted to keihin the Sherco.
  7. Put a OKO on that thing Glenn! Yesterday I had just a little bit of time and quickly bodged my OKO onto my 309,My 240 was never quite happy with it but the 309 seems to love it,possibly the reed valve signal is a bit more consistent than the piston port on the 240,with the jetting intended for the 240 it is butter smooth off idle and still pulls like a MX bike up from there.Bonus is the smoother Idling(and I haven't dialed in the mixture yet) has quieted a lot of the reed-valve Fantic rattles! The Dellorto that came on the 309 was always a bit funky, takes different jets than my other Dellortos and no matter how much I cleaned it it would frequently bog then zap with power, not the best for trials! I've still got to deal with extra throttle cable slack, shorten the fuel line(had to jamb a stick in between the hose and the exhaust to keep it from melting, locate the extra main jet that came with the carb and if it's richer stick it in for testing, and rebuild the petcock if possible as it drips if not turned to the exact right spot. BTW,In spite of my distaste of anything other than basic spark plugs, you've convinced me to give iridiums a go,what are the proper plugs for Fantics?
  8. Hey Biff, You should bring your dad and ride the T.I. Vintage Cup series this coming year,It was massive fun last year, and I'm doing the Finals this year in Indiana. You have to qualify for the finals by riding two of the five preceding events,This will be my first time putting on a event but I've got big plans! It will be basically a Single line trials event, one class for all! Shut up and ride!
  9. I really have trouble if I try to ride the loop with friends,to do my best I need to get into a zone where I am the only creature in existence. But,I really want a Trials to be a social event as well as a personal challenge,so I will work on that aspect of my riding in addition to technical practice.I've gotten several friends into trials and I want to ride along with them at the events. One thing I've noticed is the top riders take every inch of the section with equal seriousness, they use technique and concentration as much on a small twig or stone as the big step or log in the section, novices tend to focus on the main obstacle that lies ahead in the section rather than where they are at the moment. also, http://www.gasgas.com/Pages/Manniko/Manniko-mental.html

    Selling In Usa

Where in USA are you located?
  11. The thing has such big ports there is no support for the piston when down deep in cylinder,My rod doesn't have vertical play, but you can tilt it left/right quite a bit more than I like,Might as well rod it and put new mains in just for the hell of it. I've got no other big project this winter anyway.
  12. Mine hits like a 80's MXer,has tons of flywheel,USD fork feels excellent, rear shock good also. Engine is rattly, but piston and cylinder measure right on spec.I might have a connecting rod for it so I will tear it down and replace it this winter.
  13. I can use a set also...Have 'em make two batches! Don't care how accurate the colors are myself, but I do like the original style
  14. I had watched that clip many times,It does happen so quick it's hard to decipher what goes on,here's my only backyard obstacle, angled log that is higher than it looks,if you fail it tosses you into garage and tall stump,if you drive over it too hard you can't get turned before shed full of crap.I try to hold that angle until the rear tire is parked on top of log, then drop the front end. Was riding my bud's Ty175 so I kept to the right where it is lower. It really wants to pitch you over the bars if you pussyfoot it and don't hang in there when crossing it.I bend my knees as the rear tire climbs onto the log,if I then straighten them moving my body back away from the bike and handlebars over the rear tire you say I'll be able to hang the front tire longer? Set It down gentler? Gonna have to set up some lights in the back yard, damn daylight savings time!
  15. Modern Trials bikes can get away from you quick! Ride with one finger one clutch lever and one on front brake.Practice pulling in the clutch just a bit to slow your drive until it's automatic.
  16. Hey Mark, Can you link to any videos showing straight legs? If I don't bend my knees and absorb the impact it always tries to slam my front wheel down on the far side of the log("picking my feet up" exaggerates absorbing the impact and keeps my front wheel up where I want it until I can ease it down with the rear brake)
  17. Plus it's a lot nicer cleaning a twinshock after a muddy event! No linkage to feel guilty about for not disassembling and regreasing
  18. Pick up your feet when the rear wheel gets to the obstacle so the rear wheel can track over it. Start with 6 to 10 inch logs. This only works if you are riding completely over without stopping,if you are skidpanning it I cannae offer any advice as I haven't got the hang of deftly doing that yet. Oddly,I can scale much bigger logs without drama on my recently acquired SWM than either my 2011 Sherco or my Bitchin' Fantic 240,Hope it doesn't mean I need to switch to riding 4 strokes or something...
  19. Choke on,shift to 4th gear, pull clutch lever in to handlebar, rock bike back and forth repeatedly until clutch frees.Shift back to neutral. This unsticks the clutch plus primes the engine, often firing on one easy kick.
  20. Vintage ride in Louisville with a crap load of TY175s...
