Having no luck bleeding the brake, there doesn't seem to be any air in the system. If I put a clear line over the nipple & open it up no fluid flows out unless I push down on the lever, there is no air in the fluid when I do this
I pushed the pistons back in the caliper at the start to push any air in line line back up to the reservoir but now they don't move at all when pushing down on the cylinder.
I'm pretty sure the pistons aren't tipped over in the bores as they seem to be level with the seals. Could the pistons be sitting too far back not allowing the fluid to get behind them & if so what is the best way to get them moving outwards again?
Any other suggestions as to what to try

Thats the hole to shows if 1 of the seals on the waterpump shaft has let go, looks like the waterpump seal has let go.
Very easy job to fix, you may as well do the seal to the gearbox while you're at it.
Manual showing what needs to be done is pinned at the top of the page
Hopefully the shaft hasn't developed grooves as they're not the cheapest things in the world
Give Chris at Splatshop a call, he'll be able to sort out what you need & give you any advice you may need

Biggest issue when it comes to tubeless rims will be getting the order 36 spoke type, pretty sure that the holes aren't drilled at a set angle anymore as the rims don't have dimples
My guess would be gas gas or sherco would be best placed to supply the correct rim. Let us know what rims you end up using

I've gotten away with juice containers carried in my backpack for ages, coke bottles also work but are generally smaller so you need to carry 2 if you're doing a really long ride.
Most times we go trail riding with other trials bikes only for 6-8 hrs & an extra 3lts is all thats needed unless you're riding a beta, our riding is mainly fairly slow(3rd gear) & fairly technical so we don't chew through the fuel that quickly
-
Depends which of Ryan's videos he has, the second 1 is much more advanced technique wise & would be way above the head of some one starting out

Finally came home to a card saying my mail was at the mail centre needing a signature, picked it up on the way to work. Woman there was really surprised it hadn't been delivered Saturday as it arrived in the country Friday
Fitted it after work, ended up having to disconnect the rear brakeline so I could dig out the remains of the circlip which had rusted away to the point of not stopping the piston from coming out.
Had a quick try at bleeding the brake but haven't gotten it working yet, will have a better go either in the weekend or next week

I can't tell you offhand what the measurement is but it is on here somewhere, I did the backend on mine a few years ago to match up with the tucked in front & ended up with the mounts being 75mm down from the originals which turned out to be very close or the same as per majesty specs
-
The beta kit I was sent was for the rear, seems 11mm may be more common for betas
The kit I ordered off splatshop is the correct 9.5mm type, has been in the country 4 days now & still not delivered to me, normally things take 3 days in total to arrive. Always tomorrow I guess
No more local trials for another 4 weeks so I now have lots of time to sort it. At least I managed to get some riding in on the CZ & YZ465 at Levi Sherwood's place yesterday

I'm going to miss watching him race, I got to see him race at Phillip Island for the last time on the Ducati on my honeymoon, for someone who has no more knowledge of the circuit than any of the europeans his shear pace was amazing
Reading some of the interviews etc online he really wasn't happy with the direction Dorna is taking the series in, namely the 2 tier championship & that has contributed to his not enjoying racing anymore
I'm glad he's been able to retire on his terms while at the height of his career rather than staying in it for the money & fading back through the field like Rossi & a few others have
Do I think the 2013 motogp champion will be spanish? I believe the 2013 moto1 champion is likely to be Lorenzo, I don't believe Pedrosa has it in him to ever be champion in the top class & can't see why other than for the repsol money that he has kept his seat for so long on the honda
-
I ended up ordering the kit & getting it sent international signed for, normally takes 3 days to arrive which is quicker than I'd get it from here in NZ but even though it's been in the country since at least yesterday it wasn't delivered today
Looks like I'm going VMXing tomorrow instead of riding the trial I set today
-
Those pressures suit most peoples weight except juniors, if you're really concerned with bending rims etc then try maybe 1 or 2psi more
Use a synthetic oil mixed at 80:1, any lower ratio than that will just clog the packing in the exhaust over time
-
Don't get use the caustic soda if it's the main muffler section you're trying to do, being aluminium you'll end up with perforated tubes & packing sitting on floor but not much else
There are a few threads here describing how to clean out the exhaust including burning it out
-
Kit turned up today, quite surprised that beta supply the rubber parts without the piston etc. Quite happy about that though.
Quick measure at work has me concerned that may be the wrong size as the seal etc are closer to 11 than 9.5mm but until I've stripped the cylinder I won't know for certain
-
Thanks for the offer Cope, had hoped it the front kit to strip would have arrived at work yesterday but it didn't & today is our version of veterans/rememberance day so hopefully I'll get it tomorrow
Will try stripping the seals off it when it arrives to see if it's possible, can't see me sorting it saturday before I leave for 2 days of rider coaching with my VMX bikes
Once I know whether changing seals works I'll get back to you about your kit
Thanks again for the offer

I lost the rear brake today, I was showing the Ossa importer what was going on & he said it was time for a seal kit
When I got home I looked on splatshop & they're out of stock, with AJP being out of business do we think they will be getting any more in?
I talked to the Beta importer later on & he's sending me a 9.5mm kit for the front to see if it's possible to change over the seals off it. Is this going to be a good idea?
He had heard the rumour of AJP's demise & has decided to see what he can get off Beta for the future
The Ossa importer also brings in S3 to NZ & said that S3 may be looking at making kits to keep all the bikes running AJP gear going. Hope this comes to fruition

The parts book seems to show the grubscrew end being stepped down on diameter, had a look on splatshop as I'm missing mine & they may as well be free for what they cost. Think cost for spring, ball & grubscrew were under a fiver
May see if we have a ball detent at work to try in mine otherwise will be placing a decent sized order off them shortly
-
Might have to try that Neo, couldn't get my clutch to release at all today until I resorted to removing the clutch cover & seperating the outside plates with a screwdriver with the lever pulled in.
Never had that happen before.
Riding around standing on the brake trying to unstick the plates may have contributed to me blowing the primary seal in the brake master cylinder today

Worse for Ducati is his very public dislike for the carbon frame which is now used on the new panigale superbike. There is a interesting interview with Claudio Domenicali talking to Alan Cathcart where this is discussed, he commented that they may have gained some buyers through having Rossi riding for them but his comments on the carbon frame could have also cost them sales as well
-
I don't know if they're regretting signing him, he still seems to get the most attention for them.
Bigger question is whether he regrets signing for them as apart from the huge amounts of money they pay him, his reputation as a development rider must be taking a hammering
-
Looks like you're on a 80 there
Biggest problem with using risers is that the hoses & cables probably won't have enough length to still fit & you'll need to have custom length ones done if this is the case
-
From memory 101 links rings a bell, have a look at the on line parts books to confirm that though.
Personally I'd use a regina chain as thats standard fitment & they do half links
-
It may have but the lap record will likely by a lot lower when the factory boys have been there, the tyres are different this year as well & this may be some of the reason
My wife is thinking about us going to Phillip Island again this year but I'm not sure how keen I am now that the 125s have been replaced with the 250 four strokes
-
What a joke the CRT bikes are going to be, quickest is Edwards a full 3.2 seconds per lap slower than Stoner & thats after they managed to pick up 1.5 seconds through a fairly major change
If Carmen gets his way this will be the future of motogp & hopefully the manufacturers then set up a rival series running real race bikes again
-
You don't own a Beta so why cut the wiring, it's pretty easy to make your own kit-the photos should be enough to go off
-
Sounds to be how I remember, use all the new parts to be safe.
When you open the clips you need to twist it to remove it
