  1. They all should fit, none of the manufacturers get special calipers made due to the cost of low numbers I fitted a later caliper to my 01 as well when I owned it, think I may still have the galfer 1 that I ran for a while as well
  2. Have a look on the splatshop site at what they do on Keihins & drill the adjuster on the correct side, from memory the thread is a standard size so you can use a short screw to blank off the hole on the other side
  3. Normally their not hard to get off, pretty sure they just slide off. Someone has possibly used loctite on it or the nut which has found it's way down there, try a little bit of heat- loctite breaks down around 100degC
  4. I believe I know the answer to this as I had the same problem after doing a rebuild a few years ago on mine, 1 of the washers that fits on the output shaft at the clutch end is on the wrong side of the crankcase. Can't remember if it will have been placed behind the idler gear for the kickstart instead of on the shaft before asssembly into the cases or the other way around. Basically what ends up happening is the gears don't sit in full alignment & when you lean the bike over 1 does try to engage with it's neighbour I'll see if I can find the thread about when I had the problem & post it in here
  5. Wind off the peload adjuster & you should get enough space to remove the retainer at the top of the shaft when you slide the rubber bumpstop down, the spring slides off easily. Some shocks can be done by unscrewing the preload rings & removing them over the shock body
  6. Have a look at the blog on splatshop, there is a step by step guide to changing the basket. They use an old flywheel to support the clutch while swaging over the ends of the rivets, I'll probably use our press at work when I do mine
  7. With what the clutch basket etc cost they almost become service items, my working out comes to less than a pair of sprockets so I don't know why you'd bother filing the fingers on the basket
  8. If you're not running a dellorto carb which has a screen type filter in it then you need an in-line filter, keihin & mikuni carbs don't have an inbuilt filter
  9. From memory you need to be a trialscentral supporter, can't remember whether you need to use a remote hosting site like photobucket

    Engine Cover Seal

Thats the reason I got the later type cover as soon as they became available, the mud packing in behind the sprocket cover is only 1 of the reasons for the distortion though
  11. Personally I'd get the Dellorto adjuster parts & screw them into your top in place of whats fitted, you should find that the prices will be a bit lower than shown there due to no VAT on exported products. I work out that the parts will cost 7.27gbp & the postage is either 4.47 or 8.76 depending on how quickly you want it delivered The carb to airbox mount is just a luxury which you can avoid if you take up Cope's offer but it does fit well & makes fitment back onto the airbox after removal a breeze My only concern so far is your throttle cable & whether or not it's standard or something that has been made up. Measuring my spare cable I get the outer as 950mm long & the inner sticks out 155mm, this will let you know if your cable will fit or if you need to buy another cable
  12. Thats not the correct cable adjuster, it looks like something pushed into the top of the straight type adjuster that would come standard on most Keihins This is what the original Dellorto adjuster looks like fitted to my Oko carb, will look exactly the same fitted to your Keihin. I use the standard cable still & haven't made any modifications to allow me to do so Splatshop doesn't seem to list the keihin adjuster seperately anymore but do list it fitted to a new top, strangely enough it costs less than the top by itself http://www.splatshop.co.uk/sherco-carb-top-keihin.html These are the Dellorto parts you'd need otherwise http://www.splatshop..._part_code=R237 Sherco airbox joint for Keihin, small end fits to airbox http://www.splatshop...old-keihin.html
  13. They is no real trialling happeneing around Masterton but some of the Ixion & Manawatu riders do spend the odd weekend trail riding each year near Martinborough, a very social weekend that gives some really good riding on steep hill country. Unfortunately the date this year is likely to clash for me Masterton is on the other side of the island to the Manawatu, about an hour from Palmerston North & is around the same from Wellington. I seem to remember the last guy I heard of who was from Masterton rode at Ixion events & may do still, haven't been able to do many of their events this year so I'm not sure he still rides Look up the Ixion site & you'll find links to most of the importers, Kapiti Beta is based just north of Wellington & John will normally have a fairly good idea of which bikes are for sale privately which is likely to be the only way to get a cheap bike
  14. Thats a very old & wrong rumour, has been confirmed as riding for the Ducati junior team alongside Andrea Iannone. BMW have said they're not interested in entering Motogp directly
  15. Compared to a BSA C15 no new bike will have resistance at the lever
  16. It is correct to say Honda have threatened to leave if a standard ecu is brought in but going to WSBK probably won't help now that Dorna has been given control of the class from next year. It has been written that it doesn't make sense for the prototype class to have a standard ecu while the streetbike class has no limitations on theirs, I don't see Dorna letting that continue
  17. The sherco, my memory of the 90s model 270 gassers were of them being a handful. Suspension & tyres on the sherco will be better as well than old tech shocks & hard tyre on the gasser
  18. I normally smear the barrel with oil before assembling, shouldn't be that hard to fit the piston & rings back into the cylinder as long as you align them correctly with the pins in the ring grooves
  19. Don't replace it with a Olle though, from looking at the site a Ohlins is actually cheaper & much better. No idea what a TRP cost now but have had 1 for a few years now & it was also a major improvement
  20. I'm running the adjuster off the original dellorto carb on mine & have no clearance issues with the cable under the tank, you'll find that the correct version for the keihin is listed by splatshop as well. Does your carb have an angled adjuster or does it exit straight upwards? Biggest issue I've had is that any time you remove the carb that getting the choke to be usable involves leaving everything loose until the carb is twisted far enough for you to be able to operate the choke
  21. Looks good now that you have the tensioner fitted, normally you want have a gap between the pad of the tensioner & the swingarm, a finger width or so is good Don't think it will be long before you end up with the new guards fitted, a little tip the original sherco importer here in NZ gave me was to run cable ties in place of the screws at the side of the rear guard which allows the guard to pivot up rather than ripping behind the sub frame in a crash. My rear guard lasted until last year using this set up
  22. The reason most people recommend starting on a small cc bike is that it teaches you correct technique rather than just using engine power. Lighter weight also comes with the smaller size, from memory Gas Gas claim their 125 weighs around 63kg Here in New Zealand the guys who have progressed the furtherest generally started on 125s even though we have no restrictions on what size engine they use, only real exception who comes to mind is the current NZ & Australian champ Jake Whittaker who started on a Montesa 314 from memory when he was only around 10. When the possibility of doing world junior rounds came up he dropped down to a 125 Gas Gas & was still winning overall at a national level Don't be afraid to try a smaller bike if you can find 1 which won't be easy as 250s are generally the biggest sellers
  23. I'm sure Cope can send you a link to the penile enlargement site if you ask him nicely enough
  24. Good style in your shot above. Did you get the tensioner, can't see it fitted in the first 2 photos & the action shot isn't clear enough to make out if there is 1 fitted
  25. What Ham is alluding to is don't leave fuel in the tank if it has any alcohol content, I've just replaced my tank after it grew enough to no longer fit the frame, am running unblended avgas at the moment to get around having the same problem but at $3.50 a litre I may end up blending shortly
