Try Splatshop, best service I've come across & you can purchase online
-
And make bearings all over the world. I don't know if the different sizes are made in specific plants or in more than 1 place
-
Bend it in a press, every time you land on the bashplate you're basically trying to straighten it out. If you don't have access to a press you can do it using a couple of blocks of wood & a sledgehammer
Any time I take mine off I make sure to do it at work so I can get it bent back to the correct shape which means no load on the bolts
-
All I get from that is that if the local goverment doesn't come up with some money they're moving to another area
-
There isn't just a difference in exhaust note but also less bottom end power,it's quite noticeable when compared back to back
-
SKF make speedy sleeves but not below 12mm,you'd have to do it yourself

The stuff I used was 3 minute stuff, did it in 2 goes just to make sure the tubes were sealed up properly.
I rode a very muddy vmx event yesterday on my cz380 then had our first club champs trial of the year today, no leaks from the rad & 2 totally different bikes to clean. I'll never moan about how dirty my trials bike gets ever again
-
Had the rad tested yesterday & there was at least 2 rubbed through tubes, the araldite trick seems to have worked so far, have warmed the bike up twice to check that the fan is cycling correctly & no leaks so far.
I was quite pleasantly surprised to see the price of a new 1 from splatshop, should take around a week get to the other side of the world. Thats quicker than if the local agent gets 1 from the NZ importer in Australia
Thanks for the help guys

Last trial my bike got a bit hot or so I thought, was feeding it between sections & when I pulled up there was a dribble of coolant on the bashplate while the fan was running.
I thought nothing much of it other than maybe I was pushing a bit much on a hot day. Now that I'm prepping the bike for our first club champs trial I find that any coolant I tip in ends up on the floor
Took the radiator out & it looks like the fan shrouding has rubbed through at least 1 of the tubes at the bottom which I'm going to confirm tomorrow with a pressure test
I'll order a new rad off splatshop in the next couple of weeks but I'm looking for any ideas on a temporary fix to last the 1 trial before it would arrive
-
I couldn't make out the rattle you mention, can hear the reeds working though which could be what you're worried about
-
Why not go the whole hog & fit a set of the inline aluminium heat exchangers while you're at it?
Much more noticable bling
-
As someone in the plastics industry I think the 05 & earlier sidecover are a pretty poor design, the sprocket cover can pack with mud & lever the back open which then lets water etc get fired straight at the flywheel, also the residual stress from moulding causes it to bend outwards over time
The 06 onwards covers also have stiffening ribs on the outside which go a long way to minimising any distortion
I remember the alloy covers RYP sold but don't think they've been available at all in the last 5 or so years
-
My Jarvis has a thermoswitch that every now & then will stick on causing the fan to run constantly, not really a problem as it just means the bike takes longer to warm up unlike if the switch doesn't work at all
I'd be more concerned with finding the cause of your knock
-
You're slipping Cope, the 99 & 00 had fully adjustable forks as well
-
-
Frame can cost more than a trials bike,10 or more years ago a workmate came back from riding & working for Foes in the states with a bike that was conservatively valued at $10k NZ but they reckoned real cost would be closer to twice that, mind you there were only 2 of those frames in existence at the time.
Forks cost that much that he had to send them back when the season was over
You'd probably be able to buy 2 monts for the price 1 of the bikes used by the top guys
-
They should do, they cost more than a sherco
-
Haven't tried the Ohlins but do have a TRP in my bike, made a major improvement.
Best part is the fact they're rebuildable which I'd think would also apply to the Ohlins, can't say the same for the original
Biggest problem with the TRP can be supply, seems they sell too well
-
Makes the Red Bull video from Rio look positively slow & safe
-
Hi Adrian
Do you want me to bring the coil off the 250 to the meeting tomorrow night for you to check the readings?
-
Running a smaller front sprocket also seems to cause more wear, you'll go through more than 1 front before the rear is worn out
Buy a set of oversize snail cams, the originals won't let you get full movement of the axle. I bought a jitsie set for mine which make quite a difference, pretty sure there's a few other manufacturers doing them as well
-
Did I read it correctly that the top guys(TR1) are last to start & the first to enter the first section had waited 1 & 1/2 hours then were almost out of time by the time they got to the second section?
Seems like a problem waiting to happen
-
Nope the kettle was the suzuki gt750 also known as the water buffalo or waterbus.
That bike uses kawasaki h1 or h2 top ends, those things were known as the widowmaker due to having all the handling of a bed with a hinge in the middle
Theres a video on you-tube of a nicely done maico mx bike fitted with one of those engines including expansion chambers which would be interesting to ride
-
Why were you using a iris chain, they're the only chains I've ever heard let go that badly
-
Pretty sure thats not the site I found, I'll have another look & see if I can find the correct site
