  1. Any time they bring up the work for your benefit idea the jobs that are mentioned happen to be things done by council workers. It's not hard to imagine 1 of the accountants saying you're out of a job friday but see you monday for less money than you pay in tax which doesn't solve anything Unfortunately no goverment seems that interested in looking after the people of their country by creating real productive jobs instead of letting them head to china

If it's hard to get in & out as well then it's caused by the alcohol in the fuel making the tank expand. Seems to be happening to a lot of bikes now, just something you have to live with
  3. The original yamaha seat would be the most comfortable by far, the aftermarket units have seats not much better than a modern bikes sticker, very small & thin To clean out your tank have a look at this thread http://ozvmx.com/community/index.php?topic=14072.0
  4. Last couple of trials I've had that problem as well, ended up putting it down to the fuel sitting in the float bowl going off quicker than previously as draining the carb seems to fix the problem
  5. Pistons aren't available from them going off that, have a price in the high $180s & are obsolete so you can't order them http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/1976/TZ250C/CRANK-PISTON/parts.html
  6. Seeing as you're in the states give these guys a go, I plan to with my engine rebuild. Works out to be a lot cheaper that buying off ebay as you'll never find a complete kit, bare piston normally around $70, rings $30-35 then you still need a wrist pin & clips http://wossneronline.com/forged_pistons/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=50_52_71_111&products_id=714
  7. Thats what you get for owning a hair dressers dog
  8. Thats not what the Australian importers reckon http://www.trials.com.au/content/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=617:world-junior-champ-alexz-wigg-signs-for-sherco&catid=7:latest&Itemid=38
  9. Is it only once? Had a gasser 330 that did that until I went to higher octane fuel
  10. There has been a lot of advances in processing power since the ARC bike & honda's injected NSR500 which mean it should be a big step forward from then. Think of how primative the early injected roadbikes were, it hasn't taken long for the power delivery etc to be sorted to the point that carbs are really only found on the cheaper, low performance bikes
  11. Would be hard to find a better bike than that, Paul looks after his bikes very well. I assume you'd travel the hour or so to see him at the nationals in 2 weeks & have a good look etc at it

    Motegi GP

Should that not read how Rossi was running into Lorenzo, sounds like theres some serious fallout from that race with Sepang being the last time this year Rossi will be on a bike

    Hi to all of you.

163cc is right, basically it's a 125 with a big bore kit. Most 200s are roughly the same size with the only differences occuring above the cases Every piece of info you could possibly need for rebuilding & running your bike are on shercos website, I'm assuming you've already found the links at the top of the page
  14. I guess if he wanted a 2T like the rest of the ex trials riders who do the extreme enduros then he had no real choice if orange wasn't to his taste- yes I am aware that it is under the skin though
  15. [quote name='TooFastTim' timestamp='1286153889' post='248666' Neo, I'm sure there's somebody in NSW but you can send it it to Geoff Morris of GMC in Perth (I think). He's highly recommended by the VMX guys. Geoff Morris is in Victoria Neo & having seen some of his work I'd contact him to see if he's interested in having a look Mikee, have you tried contacting someone who deals with road racers? Not sure if they repair pipes or just replace them though but it's worth a try
  16. Differences in readings are pretty consistant which will be down to your meter, the black to earth flashing then going open circuit is more of a problem. Email or call Chris at splatshop & see what he thinks of your readings, I've found him very helpful when having my problem last year
  17. With the shocks laid down I'm guessing the bike tries to loop over backwards, mine does which isn't helped by the front end being tightened up as well. At the moment the wheelbase is around 1 1/2 inches shorter than standard & even with a very sick motor the front gets light too easily Can you give us more detail on how people lengthen the swing arm while retaining the strength

    dead cabby !

http://www.splatshop.co.uk/stator-repair.html Try those readings, not sure how they'll differ for the dual curve ignition but probably pretty close. If in doubt give Chris a call or email & he'll be able to point you in the right direction, seems to really know his stuff & is very helpful
  19. Looks like someone slipped a gas gas arm in there while you weren't looking That arm in the ebay ad won't fit, the rear brake was mounted above the arm instead of being tucked away. Your rear wheel won't fit in there unfortunately
  20. On the first day, God created the dog and said: 'Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.' The dog said: 'That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?' So God agreed. On the second day, God created the monkey and said: 'Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span.' The monkey said: 'Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?' And God agreed. On the third day, God created the cow and said: 'You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years..' The cow said: 'That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years... How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?' And God agreed again. On the fourth day, God created humans and said: 'Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years.' But the human said: 'Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?' 'Okay,' said God, 'You asked for it.' So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone. Life has now been explained to you. There is no need to thank me for this valuable information. I'm doing it as a public service.
  21. See if you can find a C model onwards tank, they're aluminium & seem to be a bit smaller or at least the shape is different The other option would be to get a tank/seat unit from millers although I'm not sure what the shaping is like http://www.sammymillerproducts.co.uk/cgi-bin/showpage.fcgi
  22. While you're checking the connectors it's only a 5 minute job to check the stator readings, the test is explained in this link http://www.splatshop.co.uk/stator-repair.html I had a similar problem late last year with no spark which didn't come back after unplugging then replugging the connectors but when I tested the stator the next day it returned & also showed a hairline crack in the original plug cap which was shorting to the fan motor Do the test when everything is dry & hopefully it will just be something minor rather than a dead stator
  23. Part number for the airbox to carb connector is 1555 Cope, I followed your advice on main jet size & am running the #115 main which is quite a bit smaller than in the standard dellorto. Pilot is #45 which is bigger Any theories on why this is the case?

    Coolant Weep Hole

It's not a big job to replace the seals, the seals do go in from each side. The reason that you may have to replace the shaft is that the seals can wear grooves into the shaft where they run Download the manual pinned above & you'll see just how easy a job it is
