    Big Change

Funny just come back from Florida and was paying $5 for a bottle of Corona & $4 for a Bottle of Sam Adams, seems a lot to pay for water, poor buggers
  2. Hi Greeves, The Bultaco's were not for sale, the cards in front of them just gave some information about them (age, owner etc). Only bikes I recall being for sale were a couple of TY175's and a KT 250 at silly money and a couple of old montesa's and a few TLR200's at what seemed a more reasonable price.
  3. I had a good day at the Stafford show yesterday, reasonable selection of twin-shocks to look at and took a few pictures which people might find interesting ...arun1664 flickr Regards, Mike
  4. Me too, it went to the e-mail I registered on the classifieds section of the site rather than the forums so maybe something to do with that
  5. As I found out the TY has an unusual change mechanism, in that part of the gear change mechanism is in a chamber on the left hand side of the bike. If you look, the gear change lever shaft runs in a bush which itself is in a cast plate held onto the bike by 4 screws. This bush wears and makes the actual change bad as the full movement required to make a change doesn't occur. TY Trials make a repair Kit (new casting with better bush and new change part) which made a big difference on mine. This may be your problem, certainly won't cost you anything to check.

If you haven't got them already the Sammy Miller Foot Rest kit is
  8. I agree, NGK every time, no specific info on Beta's, but back in the day when I rode two strokes on the road it was a no-brainer. Champions didn't last 1/2 as long as NGKs, so I have never gone back to champions (except in my lawn mower and that came with a champion).
  9. Suggest you use the Sherco forum next time but in the mean time see link to an earlier thread Frame Number
  10. Seeing all those women with numbers reminds me of a bar I got taken to in Thailand once, but thats a whole nother story
  11. Just out of interest is the TT a no stop trial , also what modifications are allowed in the twin shock classes and finally is the event in the Miller series ?
  12. A friend of mine sent me this link, best viewed full screen, cameraman has some nerve Click
  13. Copemech, you don't understand, he is head of the local council so he does the robbing and calls it taxation ....
  14. Hello Just brought a TY 175 and have a couple of questions I hope people can help with: 1) When I change gears with the bike up on a stand and rotating the rear wheel by hand the lever sometimes sticks (i.e. it doesn't return to center). Pretty sure the return spring is OK. Any ideas if this is a known problem (or a problem at all) and if so what is the fix? 2) Also, what is s good transmission oil, I am used to putting ATF in my Beta, does this work for the old stuff ? Thanks in advance, Mike
  15. Presumably you have a documented agreement, in which case turn it over and look at the small print, if it allows for an increase or for them to cancel the order and return your deposit then you have had it. If not you have a contract, go talk to trading standards. An alternative would be to negotiate, pay the extra but get a bit of serious discount on spares/clothing/boots etc Maybe even phone the importer & ask them if this approach is the policy of what ever brand you are trying to buy
  16. Mine said "woman who cooks meat and peas in same pot most un-hygienic"
  17. Yes I have tried them & no, they are no good. Rear is way narrower than a Mitch or IRC & the tread is much shallower, front pretty much the same. My advise is buy a decent set. If a rubbish rider like me notices a big difference then anybody will.
  18. Never heard of anywhere other than Halnaker, but you could always go ride a Worthing or Horsham club trial for about the same cost.
  19. I had a similar problem until I discovered Anusol ......
  20. Excellent find. I am now motivated to do more than 250 miles on my road bike this year ....
  21. Try running the fan from a separate power source to make sure its not broken, I had a problem (on my Rev 3) where the fan didn't run which was due to the voltage regulator. Which oddly enough is a black box located up behind the headstock.
  22. There is one on the Trials Central Classifieds here: Trials Central Classifieds which would be a better place to put a wanted ad I suggest. There is also one on the Worthing club site (RS?) here: Worthing Club.

    Rev3 Kickstart

The beta female spline does not clamp to the male spline, suspect Ham is talking about the arrangement on his sherco & assuming it applies to the Beta also. The kickstart on my 2002 Rev 3 is a bit loose but works fine. Suggest you get the washer welded back on, keep an eye on it and just carry on. I had the same problem and ended up getting a new kickstart which is the one that is a bit loose now! Regards, Mike
