  4. Seeking advice on the above subject. I need a new rear brake caliper for my Gas Gas TXT pro 2010. The caliper that I removed from the bike had an angled cut on the caliper hanger/carrier part of the caliper. I ordered a new one (part number 365019MO0), but when it came it didn't have the angled cut, even though on the website it was shown in the picture of the caliper. I've been in touch with the shop and they say that the part numbers match up with Gas Gas catalogue etc. Has anyone else had the same issue when trying to get a new rear caliper with the angled cut on the carrier/hanger part, and does anyone know if the caliper without the angled cut would fit the Gas Gas TXT pro 250 2010 without causing problems (everything else on the caliper matches the old one that came off the bike). I was thinking that maybe the angled cut caliper was an older standard model which fits both the Gas Gas and other bikes, and maybe the version without the angled cut is a new standard model that still fits the Gas Gas but maybe not other bikes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  7. I'm not saying your coil is good, but oil won't cause it to short out. Lots of large transformers are cooled by being immersed in oil. Everything is in parallel with the source coil.
  8. Get it rewound by a place that does small coils.
  9. Hi all, I’ve just picked up a ty80 to restore for my daughter when she’s old enough. unfortunately the engine casing has cracked which has caused oil to get to the stator and the ignition source coil is now giving continuity to ground. im struggling to find a replacement specifically for the ty80. Does anyone know of any other which fits? It’s a single coil stator
  10. As said, some parts may be drop-shipped to reduce stock holding. It gives the business more liquidity, which means that they are there for you long term. It is no good going out of business with lots of unwanted stock, that does nobody any good in the long run. If you really dislike it, stick to the dealers that state on the sales site if it is in stock. You will soon learn who is up to date on their sites, and who says they have it - but don't. That in itself may be to staff not booking stock in or out correctly that means stock levels are wrong - but you will see who can be relied upon, and who to call to check they have physical stock.

  13. Copied this info from somewhere not sure if this refers to the frame colour or the side panels but might give you a start. "The colors of these frames and swingarms are all aluminum gray (RAL 9006) except for the TR77 first series which are gloss black and the TR77 second series which is green (RAL 6011)." Regards, IDC

  16. Which bearing did you decide was the possible issue?
  17. I got the replacement bearing but never got round to swapping it out, i did find that once i changed the clutch oil the noise wasnt as 'grindy' so maybe try that first.
  18. Hi What are the differences between a 1982 Fantic 125 and a 240. Is the frame etc the same with just the capacity increase ? thank you
  19. Hi can someone advise on the correct chain tension and what is the correct rear wheel nut torque (possibly 60NM) ? Also I’ve just replaced the chain tensioner bush which had worn where the chain had rubbed. After refitting chain it looks like it might still rub on the new one, is this normal ? thanks
  20. This video will show you where the oil filler port is. You have the “older” clutch cover described in the video. At least, I hope it will. https://youtu.be/SKPCCsKOgr4?si=zsZasnYuUxNHTCfD
  21. Hello, I have a gas gas 321 txt and unsure of the year, either a 98 or 99? Im wanting to do an oil change however can’t seem to find a fill port? My dad is looking for a Bultaco Sherpa Trials 125 cc, engine number VM18501877-A 1977 barrel and piston and the piston is 55 mil can you advise how I help him find please
  23. Thank both of you guys, you have put my mind to rest. A few people have told me the clicking is something to do with the chain or sprockets so I will try get replacements tomorrow and update if this fixes it. As for the whine i will take it thats me being paranoid. I have changed the oil and there was a little sludge but nothing I believe to be concerning. I guess when I buy new to me things Im just so scared that something will be wrong with it that I look for things that aren’t there. Ive made a few bad purchases that put me into that mindset, plus I sort of bought the bike without test riding it due to not being in an appropriate place for it so that didn’t help. But thank you again it’s much appreciated
  24. Good outcome. I suggest you re-torque the cylinder hold-down nuts after a couple of heat cycles. There's a good chance of generating another base gasket leak unless this is done.
  25. The clicking sound is not normal. But it seems the repetition rate is too slow to be something in the gearbox. I'd look for something external like Zippy's problem first. Inspecting the drain oil is a good idea, but knowing the true history of the bike is more valuable. Did the prior owner sell because there was debris in the drain oil? Is there a chipped tooth somewhere? Out of curiosity, I looked for gearbox parts. It appears KTM is good about making GG parts available. You can buy individual gears and even a complete transmission assembly (MT40000CT-CSV-1) for $840 USD. https://trialssuperstore.com/products/gasgas-transmission-complete-19
  26. Minus the clicking, that sounds normal to me
  27. 2021 Sherco ty 125f Adventure. This bike is fitted as standard with a Jianshe Yamaha TTR 125 engine, made in China. I had serious issues with the kickstart and gearbox mechanisms, so I have now replaced the entire bottom end (apart from the flywheel, stator and flywheel housing) with the complete bottom end from a Japanese made 2006 YBR 125. I retained the up-rated 150cc barrel and piston. I also kept the complete Jianshe-Yamaha head. I can detect no difference in performance between the two motors. Differences include: the two stators are different. The old flywheel is 300g heavier than the new one. The crank shaft cam chain sprocket on the old motor has one tooth less (or more) than the new one. They are not compatible, so you have to change BOTH for one or the other (the ratios remain the same).
  28. It may be nothing and just me being paranoid then, I’ll include a link to another video I have taken and if that doesn’t help I’ll try get one like you requested. Thank you for your help though You can hear a kind of meshing noise on deceleration, as I say though it could be normal
