  8. Hey folks, i am after my first trials bike, mainly to scratch the itch of always wanting to try the sport and to try competing once a month or something. Any bikes for sale in the area would be interested in and if you know of any clubs local that ride a lot? look forward to hearing from you

  10. Assuming you are an elder statesman I would get an Electric start TRS.
  11. Hi I haven't had a trials bike since 2011, when I did some classic and twinshock trials. Im looking to get back into it, but with a modern bike, doing some easy roots. I dont want brand new, but want something with parts readily available. I need some advise on what make and age of bike. I have about £2500 to spend Thanks in advance
  12. Two helpful tips I've learnt: Kick it right from where it stopped. Don't ease the kick start around until it hits compression, just get straight at it. And/or roll the bike backwards in gear until it stops. Pull the clutch & a good swift kick. Only move the kick lever enough to engage the ratchet, no more. Then aim for the fastest stomp you can. Trials flywheels are big & heavy, especially Beta. So you want to make sure you have as much swing as possible to get that thing moving before it gets onto compression. Then the flywheel does a lot of the work for you. I'm 63 & have no trouble at all starting a TRS 300RR or a 300 Beta if I follow this. It's frowned upon, but if I'm tired I'll carefully start it on the side stand. Get on & up, then gradually tip the bike off the stand & then kick. This way you don't stress the sidestand too much.
  13. I like my Airoh up to about mid 30°C. Then I use the full face MTB, which is vastly cooler. Except we have to use certified moto helmet at events. It's all compromise, choose your poison. Busted teeth & face with an open trials lid. Potential penetrating injury with an MTB. Heat stroke with a full face dirt bike lid. Take your pick.
  14. Another magnetic lanyard part. Includes the bead. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2788445
  15. Hi can any tell me if the ht lead unscrews from the coil I know some bikes don’t bike it’s trs 300 2016
  16. The clutch cable is suppose to have a clevis on it where yours has a chain master link, your cable repair makes the cable too short, plus the bike will never work as good as with a new and correct cable installed, there is a visible kink in the one you have. Easy enough to find pictures on the net showing the correct clevis setup.
  17. Have issue with the set up of the clutch arm. Is there a process to line it up properly.

  20. A big thank you to the ACU and both Pippa Laverty and Simon Welch for organising this. The first event was at Keypitts in Ilfracombe and my OH was very keen to go. It proved to be a very good weekend. Everyone was delighted that one of the trainers was Billy Green, who turned out to be a really nice bloke and a mega bonus for all the riders. It is also a great venue - I wish they would look at pay and play - I would love to ride there. If anyone is thinking of going to the other events I can tell you it is great and well worth the effort. There were a lot of youngsters at the Ilfracombe event and it was fantastic to see so much youth talent coming into our sport. I hope this is working out for the ACU - the event could not have broke even at 15 quid a head so I am sure there is some discussion about funding more events. If you are a female rider or have a friend, wife or child that is interested it is a great chance to improve or try out trials.
  21. Only the OEM m/cyl boot fits properly, they only come in black.
  22. If you are in the UK then there are 3 cranks on ebay at the moment £40 , £50 , £80. take your pick.
  23. I have ordered S3 head and O-ring set from Spain, slipped in magnetic kill switch for free shipping😎...206e total, not the end of the world. I will update when I find time to finish fixing it...I am seriously considering to detach muffler from head and modify it so it is attached to a frame instead, because this is seriously bad design decision. yes, planned to stiffen it a bit while muffler is off. had to put a photo since u called it Her😂
  24. Rebuild the master cylinder the kits are 30 quid and not hard to do at all
  25. Hi all foes any one have a 2008 beta rev 3 250 crank and magneto lying around thats in good condition, mine has been mullerd by prviose owner and unfortunately they arnt available new any more, thanks
  26. The seal would be compromised if it is leaking oil, and hence the dust boot swelling and popping out (they grow in size when exposed to the fluid leak). You'll need to get a M/C repair kit and replace the internals.
  27. As an aside, what does the traction control actually do and why can't it be used on the clutch bikes?
  28. Regardless of being on the left or the right, trials bike kickstarts are not ergonomic. They are far too high so your knee is very bent when you are pushing against compression. Get yourself up higher by standing on a log or leaning against a tree. Or solve the problem entirely with an electric bike 😃.
