  2. @FHG speak with Glen at Rockshox, he will give you all the advice you could ever need about shocks gary@rockshocks.co.uk
  3. Question - for the rear shock - they are seized down I think. What measurements do I need to get something new? I just want it to work - does not need to be vintage....?
  4. For tyres, on my Beamish I have Pirelli MT43s, good enough for me.
  5. Today
  6. Thank Kev - I will check out the shock idea. I don't need all vintage yet, just want to get it running. I rebuilt the carb and after a few leaks and fails, it started right up after 20-25 years!
  7. Thanks trapezeartist, good shout and maybe I have to rethink the budget, don’t want to go overboard on my first bike, want to test the water, but also want to be realistic, what should I budget would you reckon, £1500?
  8. 51 is young. Many riders start trials when they feel too old for whatever they were doing before. £1k is a challenging budget if you're going to get something ready-to-go. Remember that needing tyres, chain, sprockets, whatever could rapidly increase the final cost of a bargain bike.
  9. The engine in an RTX is Russian! A Minsk 2 stroke engine that was made in Balerus, Russia.
  10. When it’s moving, even if cruising at 5mph slightly on the throttle, second you clutch it it goes away

  12. Lovely original machine @FHG Tyres are fit for the skip but lots of choice to be had. ive just put rockshox rear shocks on my beamish and they are fab, depends if you want original or an upgrade that works. Kev
  13. Yeah, he was asking about the 301. The 300 cota is slow compared to the 301. The Montesa has the best suspension and handling. Yeah, the beta std runs more like a sewing machine. Never liked the 4 T Beta.
  14. Hi ANYONE SUSSEX BRIGHTON WAY regards to all x
  15. S3 HARD ROCK STEEL £65.00 ish not as glamourous or light as other handbags but If they are good enough for a rider the calibre of Adam Raga who would say that they are not "Top shelf" , plus you save a stack of money over the GUCCI ones. There is only one down side that you will never have to buy another pair of rests ever again .Just file them now and again to keep them grippy. If you are fond of Aluminium Footrests then S3 CURVE.£90.00 ish . I do not work for S3. They just make quality stuff that are then copied by others.
  16. GOOD Day -complete rookie here - I am looking for advice, feedback and connections. I touched a 2 stroke for the first time in 30 years and I am hooked. This is my dad's bike, I think he bought it new and raced it and gave it to me in the 90s. My dad passed away last year so I decided to rebuild it. I rebuilt the carb, reused everything and it fired right up. First goal, tires and shocks - get it rideable so a third generation can try it and then I will pull it apart next winter and rebuilt it. Initial questions: - everything is original. Tires are in bad shape, cracked any way to keep them? - Rear Shocks - completely seized - not sure how to size and replace them? - Front shocks - ChatGPT tells me I can rebuild them, they work but rubber is cracked and oil would be 40+ old.
  17. I’m new to trials. 50 years old. Enjoying it all so far. Been riding for around two months. Live in Melbourne, Australia.
  18. ebay "Keihin PWK 28mm Carb Jet Block o-Ring"
  19. I need new footpegs for a Vertigo Nitro 250 2022. Any recommendations?
  20. Is the bike moving or stopped when pulling the clutch helps?
  21. Where did you get the jet blok gasket ?
  22. My 04 Jarvis normally runs 130mm from top of compressed forks with no springs fitted, 5W fork oil is what I use
  23. As I already stated , there is NO step.
  24. Last week
  25. Maybe you would get more on that in the specific Scorpa forum
  26. Modern Sherco ST 250 trials bikes (equipped with Tech or Paioli forks), the typical fork oil capacity is approximately 250cc to 300cc per leg of SAE 5 or SAE 7.5 weight oil. However, it is highly recommended to set the oil level by height (usually 110mm-130mm from the top, compressed, without springs) rather than just volume for accuracy.
  27. Hi, I’ve got a 2016 300rr when riding around under load or slight throttle I get some weird noises from the left side of the engine (sounds like a bag of ball bearings) soon as the clutch lever is pulled in it stops, release the lever and it starts again, any help is appreciated
  28. Anybody know where I can find the workshop specs or manual for a 2004 Sherco st 250? I started looking for fork oil capacity but not much found for correct year.
