Have a mono yam think the carb is worn out , what can i replace it with. Pref with some thing that fits straight on and makes it run like it should.

Evenin all. I noticed some posts re TY 250 clutch heaviness. I recently bought a 78 TY250 D (The Majesty replica recently pictured) and found the clutch action to be heavy. After a full primary side stripdown all I found were worn friction plates and slight notching of both hub and basket. I spoke to John Cane at Trail and Trials and he recomended new friction plates and standard (lightweight) Yam springs, as the pattern springs are heavier gauge wire and thus higher poundage. So new friction plates, new cable, notches from hub and basket removed, clutch and gearbox running in ATF, there is a definite improvment. I also noticed that the clutch arm has been lengthe…

HI JUST REPLACED ALL GASKETS ON MY DT AND WILE I WAS DOING THIS THE KICK START SHAFT FELL OUT , I PUT IT BACK IN AND PUT BIKE BACK TOGETHER BUT AFTER FIRING HERE UP I HAVE FOUND THAT THE COG ON THE SHAFT IS NOW GRINDING , I PRESUME IT ITSNT PUSHING BACK INTO PLACE SO I PRESUME THAT THE SHAFT NEEDS TO BE PUT BACK A CERTAIN WAY ORMAYBE ANOTHER PROBLEM, ANY IDEAS ???? Hi Everyone I'm rebuilding a TY 250 to go with my working TY 250 and have a carb to fit to it but it has a different slide in than my working bike, what is the correct slide number? both carbs have the main jet in the float bowl. Kind regards Andy

The big question! I am working on a TY frame and motor project that up to now was very clear. I have 3 A ( 434 ) motors one is in my std riding bike and I would prepare another one for my project, complete overall including a little porting, head reshaping, squish calculated, timing and flyweel weight removal. But yesterday I was offered a B ( 493-1... ) complete Ty. Now you know my question. I rode C and D model so long ago that I cant tell the difference between them. I'm not looking to start an argument over witch one is the best, but I would like your input on both model A and B. This motor will go in a D modified frame. Soooo... what do you think?

I really like the looks of the Shedworks Tank/Seat combination; however, I can't figure out if it is compatible with the 1974 TY250? I struggle to understand what is compatible with the rear fender that uses the fiberglass seat pan. In all the pictures I see it seems the models are later versions, with a different rear mudguard and I can't find this other mudguard for sale (I have the short mudguard where the air box is part of the rear mudguard). Is a different rear fender needed for this to work? Is the stock air box compatible with the Shedworks setup? I also see majesty style aluminum tanks that look good, they seem to use a different rear fende…

need to take rear monoshock apart on a ty 250 pinky,shocker needs regassing and coil spring repainting,want to have coil spring painted before i send shocker to be regassed,anyone know where to send shocker for regassing,any help greatly recieved. be patient with me ,first time on forums

Hiya, I'm new to trials and bikes in general to be honest haha and have just bought my first bike, a Yamaha TY175 1981/1982 model to ride and remodel. It's a brilliant wee bike however, it is missing its side stand and I'm struggling to find the complete parts to replace. I seem to only be able to find the springs online. I don't suppose anyone knows of anywhere that could help or if anyone has a spare they would be willing to sell, or even if there is a worthy universal stand that anyone could suggest. Any ideas would be appreciated! I'm located in the UK, near Cambridge. Thank you! 😊

What do you use to seal the Tank when using E5/E10 Modern Fuel please?

Trying to remove the piston from my front forks. I believe I need to hold the top of the piston while unbolting from the bottom. My 175 has a stub and I customized a socket to hold it. The 250, as well as I can see, has no stub and my tool does nothing. Does anyone know a good method to hold the top of the piston? Thanks,

Help! I have just bought a TY250R and the clutch basket has one of the edger pieces snapped off (the parts the plates slide through). Is this useable? ive just seen some damaged clutch baskets (the same) on ebay for sale. does the damage matter? If i nned to replace it does anyone have one to sell? I've recently bought a 92 250 pinky, the clutch cover is pitted along the bottom edge and has been patched. I used to own a 94 pinky (in 94), it did the same after a couple of years. The reason i've been told is that the magnesium cover slowly dissolves in water. Is it true that earlier, pre pinky monos used aluminium covers rather than magnesium, if so do they fit exactly onto the pinky? Thanks in advance.
