Hello, I was hoping to fit lights to my cota 200 so I bought some genuine mont ones second hand, I started to investigate how to wire them up so looked at the generator side but I could only see through the slots in the rotor one coil so I am assuming that this is for the ignition and that the coils for the lighting have been removed. Could someone confirm that there should be more than one coil and if I need to replace the stator would one from another model fit . this would widen the search for available parts. I'm also looking for a workshop manual but there does'nt seem to be anything specific to the 200 would the Clymer manuals that pop up now and again for the 123…

I'm helping a friend redecorate his Cota 247 tank and want to know where the "MADE IN SPAIN" decal was originally located. I have looked at every photo I can find in books and on the interweb and cannot find a photo showing the location of this particular decal. The owner thinks it should be about 50mm to the rear of the fuel cap hole but I want to make sure. Can anyone help please?

Hi After reading so much on this subject am I correct in thinking if I was to run my 1980 349 on one of the following popular full & semi Synthetics I would be ball park ok? Castrol Power 1 full synthetic at 50: 1 Castrol A747 semi synthetic (with Castor) at 40:1 My preference would be to go semi for the standing time protection it has over a full Synthetic on internals but am I reading into things to much? Anyone ran either of the above long term and would like to give the benefit of their experiences? Advice please Thanks

I'm going to make modern trials footpegs for my Montesa Cota 348. I make them from 4 mm steel, using TIG. How long and wide they should be (without brackets)?

Hi Just want some idea of the value of the bikes above. Both start and run. The Yam not so well as I have not touched it for about 6 months but looks good and could do with a tune. The Ital is in very good condition, no rattles, plenty of power and it still has the original tires, Michellin, in excellent condition. I am thinking of listing them on Ebay. I have three other bikes (Montesas) and as I am getting on I just can't find the time to give them all a good run. What do you reckon would be a reasonable price to expect? The bikes are located in Australia. Thanks for any advice.

Theres is a Matchless G5 for sale locally, the erm 'lightweight' series.... Anyone trialed one, or even know anything about them? I could just use it as a roadbike if it's a complete non-starter...in the trials sense. Bit of a curio thing, pudding basin, goggles , white scarf 'n glass of milk. 1960 350cc single....the fake unit engine one...you know, the one with big bulbous engine cases...similar (same as, bar name tags!) AJS model 8. Or a G2 250cc with 350 AJS 8 engine if you wish.
