Ilkley & District Motor Club Ltd.. Yorkshire Dales Motor Cycle Trial. A.C.U. Classic Championship 23-07-17. The Ilkley Motor Club will stage the third round of the A.C.U. Classic Championship series at Pateley Bridge on July 23. The trial headquarters will be the Pateley Bridge Auction Mart. The Teacups Café will serve meals from signing on time schedule. The start time is 10.00 am. There is a petrol station within short distance of the start area. Big round of applause for the Ilkley club and there observers for todays time and observation trial. starting in a hail storm the moors were not friendly although despite recent heavy rain they were surprising firm ( ish). The course was also a little shorter than recent years, tree plamting taking out one of the old 'reguler' sections ( and with trees planted right on the only line never to be ridden again. also exiting kex gill riders were routed back west and then up the hill to avoid areas of eroded peat, descending the moor a new route ( much much drier ) was used and a terriffic section in / up the side of a gully . the ilkley stalwarts regrettably didnt quite fi…

I rode an inter center team trial about 15 years ago (I think it was in Kent) - Graham Jarvis was the star man for that event. I was riding as an 'Inter' and found the going to be hard but I could cope (just). Back then, I think the team was made up of 2 experts, 2 inters, 2 novice & 2 youth or something like that! I'm riding again down in Cornwall and was wandering what the sections are like these days? I understand that now the youths are on the saturday and the adults ride the same route on the sunday??? Any info would be gratefuly received....

First time since joining the forum and would like the opinion of sidecar riders who took part in the inter center trial in northumberland. After taking some advise from some riders ,myself and my mate set out what we hoped was a challanging but enjoyable trial for those who competed.Trying to get the mix of section difficulties right is always a problem when you have club riders competing against the British champion and those who compete in championshp trials. Thankfully the weather held out and from what i saw most left with a smile on their faces. So if you were involved in the trial i would realy appreciate your imput Colin

Anyone coming to the Wight two day trial on April 23/24 will need to quote the following refrence number when booking with Red funnel ferries, to access the cheep rates (C1WM01). You maybe asked for your ACU club membership when you collect your tickets. The trial has all classes including Youth A/B/C and side cars, a special bounus event for the top ten riders will be held after the first days action,and cash prizes will up for grabs. Just to let you all know that this years IOW two day trial on May 6/7 is filling up fast. Over 60 entered already with about 3 weeks left to enter, as its limited to 150 i'd get in soon or you may miss out. Trial will be organised by same team as did last years youth nationals, and this years ladies round so you know it will be good, some well known youth riders have already entered.

Our local TV station ran a excellent review of the Isle of Wight two day, and trials in general on Monday 30 April on thier evening programe called Solent tonight, if you go on thier web site www.solent.tv you can watch the video, the review is near the end of the programe. The good news for us is that they want more, so they will be covering our ladies & C/D nationals on 19/20 may.

Now then Groovers, How are we all keeping? Its been a while since I last felt the urge, must be something to do with my age!! I'm not sure if this is entirely the right place, but it seems fairly logical so.... ...Anyways, its fast approaching that time of year again - you know, where we all work ourselves into a frenzy over the upcoming TC Trial. With only three months to go till the Spring Bank Holidays, I was wondering if we had any plans to run another fabulous TC Trial (courtesy of BDMC) again this year?? The Jack Wood National Regs are out. 27 March. Sheffield. This is one of the best road trials. About 50 sections,1 lap on some of the best land in the country. 2 routes. Regs on their website http://www.hillsboroughtrials.co.uk/ Mark T
