competed in forest trophy trial on sunday, great event as mention else were, but hey was it wet and cold. I only had trial trousers and trial jacket on and I froze, took some of the enjoyment from a great trial for me. so I need a decent set of wet weather gear, so what is the best, I dont expect to keep bone dry but I need to keep that wind off, ( dont say stop eating the beans) . who was wearing what and how was it. saw some guys in combat jackets??. and some guy had shorts on?????

Does anybody have contact details for Wetherby club? Probably best to pm me them if you don't mind. It seems I don't exist from the recent trials results. Cheers.

  7. Started by the artist formerly known as ish,

Having a gander at the filtrate photos from last weekends wetherby trial to see if I could see any old faces I remember. The first ever trial I rode was at that venue, with riders like JR and Shep, taking part, beat two out of over 100 riders if I recall correctly, still look like reet Yorki sections, no wonder they are bloody good riders from that part of the world, who was the man on the Enfield? he looks familiar. Two brothers from summerbridge used to set a lot of events back then for the Wetherby club, great lads! shame on me but I can't remember their names, old timers must be setting in any news would be appreciated.

  8. Started by kinell,

Anybody got any details, where is it, what time does it start, turn up & ride or regs by post ? Cheers

Margaret Myers has phoned this morning and the Trial At Fellbeck is off due to the condition of the venue after the last couple of days rain. They will not be a replacement trial .

  11. Started by telecat,

I have just spoken to Mrs Myers the secretary of the club. She is going to speak to the Clerk of the course this evening but it looks like the trial will have to be cancelled. The Normal parking area looks like it will be inaccessible and no alternatives can be found.

Having not ridden in an ACU trial for 10 plus years I just want to check if there’s anything that has become compulsory in recent years? I’ve read the appropriate sections of the handbook and all I can find is that output sprockets must be covered, chainguards must be as manufactured and about rear sprocket guards in the general bike description section but nothing specific about them in the trials section. Are sharks fin (as there called in road racing) rear sprocket/chain guards required for trials?

  18. Started by neils on wheels,

Waiting for dinner to cook, I've taken a look at the Vic Brittan results and thought there seemed to be quite a few TRS's in the results, so I had a quick count in excel & this is what was ridden in the event. So after going bust & being bought, on the basis of this trial at least, there are still more Gas Gas being ridden than anything else and of the newer brands only TRS appear to be making any headway (maybe because this is Midland Centre, near to the importer?) 32 Gas Gas 20 Beta 13 Sherco 12 Montesa 11 TRS 3 Yamaha …

  20. Well guys what happens where you come from. This has happened at the last two trials i have attended and it's ruining the event and devalues the hard work people have put in laying a course. Also how do you encourage people to observe. Help needed in my centre or it's all going to fold. Tried to post a poll but failed so options are: 1. If there are only 5 observers they observe 5 sections then move onto the next 5 sections. 2. Riders observe each other. 3. More laps of less sections. 4. Only observed sections to count. 5. Refuse to start the trial till there are enough observers. 6. Ask riders to give up their ride. 7. Give up and go home. Also what do you do…
