I have not been able to get on Trialstribulations web site for a couple of days. Has something changed or are they just having web site issues? If something has changed, is there someone else that offers Beta parts on line like them?

  3. At Tong Today 80 riders turned up for a Trial in the most atrocious conditions. Firstly well done to Spen Valley and their team of markers and officials for getting the event on. And secondly congratulations to the Observers and Riders at a great event. Despite the Conditions it seemed everybody had a good time!

Well done Rabie on being awarded the Pinhard Prize. Fantastic to see the award go to someone who works away behind the scenes helping all of us to enjoy our sport. Good on you !!

I am delighted to say that Arthur is to recieve a special award from the SACU for lifting the profile of Scottish Trials within the UK. As you are aware it has taken lots of hard work and Arthur has an excellent band of Lochaber members who also help. We have been very fortunate to have run two successful championships and hopefully next year will be the same. Gary is also to recieve a special award for his contribution to the sport. I think I should get one aswell for putting up with them both during this time, it's cost me a fortune in hair dye to cover all the grey!! Sandra

Whilst I was chatting with some guys at the Forest trial who were there for the first time on recommendation and were thoroughly enjoying it, we discussed that there must be a variety of not that well know UK trials out there that are well worth going to but not that many people know of them as yet. So I thought I would post a thread and see if anybody knows of some gems (avoiding the obvious) coming up this year that are a must ride. Any suggestions anyone? Note: Please refer to the type of trial with as much info as poss i.e Type :- Easy/Hard - Twinshock / Pre-65 / Mixed etc etc. and where to find details. Cheers Ian

What a great idea by the Cumberland Club. As a boy I can remember watching numerous Alan Trophy's and many centre rounds like the Dixie Dee at Newbiggin. It would be great to see some of the old names there for a weekend. Here are a few that I can name who are still riding In the Schoolboys there was the legendary Gary " Bing" Bingley and Robert "Dobbo " Dobson Mark Barrow , Tim Walker(now converted to the Dark Side of Sidecars) & Nigel Pattinson - In Club trials there was Robin Oliphant and Jasper on the Turnuki. In Centre trials it was Chris and Dave Myers & Nick Sheilds. But what of those never heard of any more Stephen & Mike Barton , Dave "Wilbur …

What is the position on riding a bike out of class? I have seen a few riders that are C class riding 125cc bikes in trials when they should be on an 80 until the end of the year - is this generally accepted as I am thinking of getting my new bike now rather than wait if It is accepted by clubs as ok to ride them in trials.

Over 100 Riders at Tong for the Horsforth Club and over 70 At the Yeadon And Guiseley Club Trial at Addingham on the same day! Both Trials had very healthy Small Wheelers entries as well. Even the Spen Valley Trial at Harden Moor the previous day in appalling weather had 38 riders! Looks like the clubs hard work with courses is paying off.
