2012 sees the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) enter its second century, with nine days of motorcycling entertainment being held in Fort William and the surrounding Lochaber region of the Scottish Highlands from the 4th to the 12th of May. The main trial takes place from 7th of May onwards and SSDT organisers, the Edinburgh and District Motor Club, are pleased to confirm the following details.

I know it's early days but after 2 clean rides can Dougie equal or beat Gordon Jacksons record lowest score of one mark lost? What odds would you get!

Hi, My brother and I are currently trying to sort out a load of bikes and parts that our parents collected over the years. We've done a bit of digging into a DOT we have and the info suggests it's 1961 works trials rep that was shipped up to Duncan's in Brechin for John Noble to ride in the SSDT. Would anyone on here have access to start lists/results from the early 60s to see if that could be true? Very grateful for any info or help. After reading HL's above post got me thinking how could you boost the entry in years when economy and such may have an effect on the entry numbers. What if Thur, Fri, Sat, were open for a three day event to fill the ranks of those riders who had gone out of the event in the first three days, even allow them to re enter if they have gone out due to bike failure if they can get their machine sorted. Some first timers may not want to take on the full trial to start with but may take on three days to see what it's like, and the older riders who think six days would just be too much, may jump at the chance to ride the last three days. Thursday lived up to its traditional tough billing as the 2013 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) moved into the second and deciding phase of the competition. Dougie Lampkin (Gas Gas) used the opportunity of the longest day of the trial, and the toughest to date, to move into the lead for the first time this week. His single mark loss today puts him on seven in total, and sees him move ahead of overnight leader Alexz Wigg (Gas Gas) who dropped eight marks on day four.

Thirty-seven-year-old Dougie Lampkin (Gas Gas) will set out this morning with a real chance of capturing a seventh Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) title to further extend the record that he achieved last year. Lampkin has already amassed more SSDT wins than any other rider in the long history of the competition.
