Competitors from as far afield as America, Japan, Australia, Canada and representing more than twenty nations, gathered in Fort William earlier today as they completed the formalities ahead of the first day of the 2013 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) tomorrow. The West End Car Park, which will serve as base camp for the event over the coming six days, was a bustling Mecca of motorcycling throughout the day despite the damp conditions, as riders carried out their final preparations for the almost week-long adventure that awaits them. The entry of just under two hundred and seventy riders from diverse countries such as Sweden, Kenya, Estonia and Andorra is made up of a mix…

SSDT Secretary and all round good lass - our very own Highland Lassie - is getting on her push bike and pedaling for Leukaemia Research charity. Few people fully appreciate the time, effort and commitment that HL gives to motorcycle trials - not just to the SSDT but she also helps in other events such as timekeeping the Scott. If you want to say a small thank you to her please read what follows and give a little to the very worthwhile cause. I will let the words of HL tell you the detail "Some of you may have heard of Pedal For Scotland, but for those who haven't, it's a charity cycle from Glasgow to Edinburgh - 51 miles in total, and it's taking place on Sunday…

Hopefully you will have read elsewhere about the trialscentral.com part on the ben and charity auction during the upcoming UK world rounds at Nevis Range. The Edinburgh and District Club have donated a bunch of stuff but the BIG news is they have offered a guaranteed and fully paid entry to the 2011 SSDT. This has a face value of

Going to be arriving in the Kinlochleven area about midday on the Saturday. Will the trial still be going on then? If so where would be the best place to head? I have watched the 6 days many times but never managed to catch any of the pre65, so would like to see some if possible.

I have come up to spectate later in the week this year than usual (arrived today) and not only have they run out of kid’s T-shirts and hoodies I can’t track down any stickers. Seem to have all gone. My lad will be gutted if I can’t find one. Does anyone have a spare one I could have for a donation to a charity of their choice or a drink at the bar or something? Cheers Dave

Trying to trace history of my Tlr 250. This was registerd by Honda UK and has the next reg number after E. Liguene's works Honda(you can see his reg number in '4 stroke finale' dvd/book). It was ridden in the scottish as it has some very faint markings on the engine relating to the marking system used at the SSDT but is un-readable. Also this bike has RTL bottom engine numbers stamped and an external oil feed from front of gearbox to the head. I would like to get hold of entry list's from 84/85 to see if it might show up who owned/rode the bike? I bought the bike from John Lee m/c in 2003 and apparently it had been stored for 12 years prior to this. Any help appreciated.

Edinburgh and District Motor Club are extremely sorry to have to announce the death of Kevin McColm, who passed away earlier today after a long period of illness. Kevin was a long-standing member of the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) Committee, and whilst he was most recently part of the Routemarking Team, he is best known for his role as Chief Marshal, a post he held for many years.

I presume Michael Brown didn't competete yesterday in America, hence incurring a score of 150 marks (hey I could do that and score WTC Points ), wonder if the injury will be mended enough to start next Monday. He has got to be in with a chance of lifting the trophy so here's to a speedy recovery
