Aircooled Monoshocks

Does any one have any advise on main bearings as it got to be that that clanging away as i rode it yesterday for the first time and it clanged all day but ran ok .What i would like to know as in a month time im going on a weeks trials holiday .Do they just get noisey are do they aventually go bang .Also what kind off expense am i looking at too have a engine rebuild and any recomendaions who could carry out the work any advise would be welcome. thanks peter

Hello all Iam trying to identify my ty250 mono ,I was told by the seller it was a1989 model but according to the numbers its not ,the engine no is 38V-010***is a 1986 2AF European model and frame no is 4AJ-0020** is a 1991 Japanese Model,can anyone confirm these numbers I can't find much in the way of info on the web,I know its quite easy to build a bike from different parts but just in case I have the wrong info I'am asking on here. cheers.. Does anyone know how much and what grade of fork oil goes in the 89 240 Europa. They are 35mm Marzocchi so I presume they could be common to some other bikes of this era. Also I was told that removing one of the baffles from the main exhaust silencer was a good tuning mod,has anyone tried this?

I'm looking for some good quality pics of a 87' garelli 323 trials bike, so i can get the graphics made for my garelli. the 87' model has a white frame and the graphics are different on the 86' which is the red frame.

What is the standard ( front and rear ) sprocket on a 44h TY Mono? The only parts list I find are for 350 cc model, are the sprockets the same on 250 and 350 early Mono? And If anyone would share there experience with different size I would apreciate. Thank you in advance Guy

its a moto morini engine air cooled with manual clutch and four gears and a backwards kick, crank case inducted with a 14mm dellorto carb, does anyone know the engine model?, looked on various websites like harglo etc but nowt exact it looks like a very early one and i am worried about getting service parts etc, engine no is fgm30*000126

Hello all I have just bought an '85 TY250 and want to fit lights. The bike has both coils, but all I can see in terms of powered wiring is one wire that is on the right hand side of the air box. This is giving out 6v, but is the only wire that is available with power. The kill switch and wiring is present, but I cannot find any other wires to power the front light etc. Any ideas?

My TK carb is just worn out on my Yamaha mono TY. I'm looking into replacing it with the old stand bye, the Mikuni VM26. I had read that Jon S. had success with these. Does anyone know the starting point jetting specs for a Mikuni VM26 for a bone stock Pinky? Thank you for your help.

Hi,looking for some advice, The bike started running erratically and lacking any power eventually dieing with no spark at all. I have changed the coil pack and still only sparks intermittently, on pulling the side cover of the left of the bike I noticed a lack of a gasket and that a lot of crap/dirt had got in.l Could this be the cause or does anyone know better? Got one of the lambretta coil packs of ebay on advice from a forum seems okay. I have a yellow wire which isnt connected to anything at the moment. What size flywheel puller do i need i have already got quite a collection but not small enough for this. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

hi all can any one help me i am looking for some close up pics of a frame and tank of a jcm as they have a petrol tank under the seat i have loads os parts layin about in my workshop eg. forks ,engine wheels so i think i will put them to good use by makin a special trials bike with petrol tank under the seat so if any one could help me out on any pics i would be most greatful so i can design my own frame with the jcm design incoprated into my design thanks my email is millerme@hotmail.co.uk

So how many folks know anything about this 1986 Honda air cooled 244 cc 4 stroke, six speed box monoshock bike? I've yet to see and hear for sure if there is a 1987 H model too. She weighs about the same as an RTL, which I've ridden. Mine is far more forgiving though and a joy to ride. The torque curve is sooo flat. Great! i have just bought a frame for my ty250 mono it is the later type R frame without all the extra lugs and has the cradle for the rear shock remote. i have noticed the footrest brackets are different on this frame does anyone know where i can obtain some decent wide footrests for this model. Alan

I have just picked up a TY Mono which is going to be paired with a chair (new challenge for next year!) I am sorting a few bits out and noticed that the rear brake pedal flop's around due to excessive wear either on the shaft or the housing in the frame. The current pedal looks like it has been built up with braise. I can get a bush made up but first I want to source a replacement pedal. I can't find any UK suppliers stocking any on the net? Or do people buy other ones and modd them (if so what one??)

After the recent topic on the monoshock Ossa I thought I'de give a heads up. Just got my copy of VMX and featured inside in full technicolour is the monoshock Cheney Ossa.

As title suggests, I am trying to rebuild my Montesa Cota 310, just wondering if anyone had a parts or repair manual, the engine runs a real treat, just the rest of the bike is the problem! I think the rear linkage is upside down???? Sits very low, so need some info. Thanks in Advance. Ivan
