Beta 270 owners, can you give me some insight as to how a 08 270 rides compared to a 07. Is the power delivery on the 08 harsher?

Just a quick question, regular unleaded or super unleaded, and does spending an extra 10p per litre make any difference.

Hi all Been having a problem with the forks on my 2010 evo bought it at a few months old and not until riding it noticed that on the fork that goes into your tripple clamps ( inner fork ) has a slight dent in it, can just feel it, replaced seals to see how it goes and was ok for short time now leaking badly from fork seal. Does any one know if there is anyone out there that would repair it??? Have been told liquid metal and smooth it down or even super glue drop into dent and let dry and smooth with wet and dry. Any ideas know how much the new forks are

One of the fork seals is stuck real bad. It took an usual amount of slide hammer motions to separate the stanchion from the slider. However, once I got the two separated I noticed that part of the seal was still in there. The slider and bushing just ripped through the seal leaving the outer seal race in the stanchion. I'm thinking to use a dremel tool and carefully cut the seal race. Has anyone run into the same problem and what worked best to solve it ?

Hello, I use my 01' Rev3 250 mainly on enduro style trails and to get to the trail I often ride a few(10-20) kilometers on public roads and I would like to have the engine a bit cooler. It is not that the bike overheats, no steam is coming out of the cap and I also don't loose any coolant, but on the other hand I never give full throttle on the paved roads and only drive about 50kp/h (30mp/h) max. because I fear that the bike gets to hot. I already replaced the 12V regulator and the fan now runs a bit faster. The coolant I use is Motul Motocool Factory Line and I also plan to exchange the plastic radiator guard with alloy mesh for more airflow. The oil I use is Motul 7…

I'm looking into getting into trials and wondered if a 2001 Beta Rev 3 would be a good bike to start on. Are there any "issues" with this year/model? What should I be aware of when I check out this bike? I'm new, so all of this is still a mystery!

My mates rear brake on his '09 Beta Evo suddenly locked on today, lever was still up in the off position, we let a bit of oil out and it freed up for about 10mins before siezing up again, done this a few more times so we stripped down the master cylinder and cleaned it all (seals looked OK), rebuilt it and same happened again after 10mins riding, so again we let a little oil out and that seemed to have done the trick, it lasted all afternoon. So I have a couple of questions: 1. What caused this? I'm guessing it's something to do with pressure building up after so many pumps of the lever and somehow not releasing. 2. What's the correct way to bleed the rear? Not having…

I've posted on here before about the problems I've had with a 06 rev 3 I bought, here is a recap, Bleeding brakes- takes forever, practically impossible haha! Automatic takeoff when cold- thankfully sorted by doing the clutch fix and using light gear oil Magnesium case corrosion Plug fowling Rear brake seizure, pads stuck Dog teeth on air box broke Took the carb off to improve the jetting- reeds completely worn Side stand broken off as well as the chain tensioner- both sorted out new thermostat- fan still not working and engine overheating After feeling roughness in the steering today I took the bike to my mechanic friend and uncovered a nice new host of new pr…

The bike does not start. There was no visible spark from the spark plug, but spark plug itself was fine when we spark tested with another Beta. So, I pulled out the ignition coil and tested for continuity, I have attached the picture labeling the terminals. Here is what I found When cranked and the voltage between 1 and 2 reads between 10v to 14v, so the stator seems working When tested for resistance, with 2 (ground) disconnected, the resistance reads zero for the following terminals 3 and 4 terminals 3 and 5 terminals 4 and 5 Between any of (3, 4, 5) and 6 at the spark plug end the resistance is 1k So, is th…

Can anybody please advise? My lad's taken his Rev03 forks apart to repair a couple of scratches on the stanchions. Whilst doing this, he's concerned that the fork bushes may need replacing. What do people think? Thanks in advance.
