I have now ridden my TL320 in two trials since I rebuilt it from 5 boxes of parts, however there seems to be a problem as I have had 2 DNFs due to a misfire developing. The reason for this I think is that it may need a new set of points as I never changed them during the rebuild. I know where I can get genuine replacement points for it but was wondering if anyone is aware of any compatible sets from an old car that would be handier to pick up from my local motor factors. I have read elsewhere on this forum that some old chainsaws use the same ones, any idea of the model I would be looking for? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I thought you might like to see my latest SWM project. It started as a pretty nice 1981 TL230 but never one to just have a standard bike I decided to set out on a project to use the standard bike as the basis for something a little different. The frame was first and I decided (with the help of Rob Homer) to remove the top frame tube and the seat rails and make a tank as part of the frame with tubes welded inside to route the cables. The seat rails were replaced with straight tubes so that the new seat and side panels would sit flat and also form the top of the airbox (this dropped the seat height by about 3 inches). Whilst modifying the frame the head angle w…

I have a Moto Gori 125, bored out to 175cc - i have been told, though not done any measurements...... Please can anyone confirm the correct amount of engine oil i need, the rotax unit is a big lump & would imagine would need a fair bit. Only rode a couple of trials on it - if anyone is interested, bike could also be for sale. thanks

I don't need any convincing on the benefits of coppa slip, however, should it be used on Rotax motors? Will the motor act as a sacrificial anode ?

Hi all, got a good second hand clutch centre from MartinM (thanks) have put in 3 soft + 3 medium springs along with a 3 way lever Haven't had a proper chance to try it yet but is one finger light, and doesn't seem to slip until 5/6th gear if you drop the clutch. I have removed any ridges on the clutch basket, but read on here somewhere about setting up the adjustment screw on the thrust bearing, but now cant find the info, so would appreciate pointing in the right direction. Thanks Ross

Does anyone know whether the Rotax motor has a 'stop' on the kickstart mechanism? Mine is the Jumbo but I believe it's the same as the 240/280 motors. Problem has occured in that the kickstart travel/rotation is long and on full swing the knuckle of the kickestart has gone round and punched a hole in the casing. I can't see how to stop this happening. It's never happened before but it's happening now. I've looked at the parts diagram and had the kickstart ratchet and spring out but can't see that there is anything to stop the kickstart shaft continuing to rotate until the kickstart hits the casing. There is no way I can kick it gently enough to shorten the swing to prev…

Hi Guys, I thought you might like to see my recently finished project. This started off as a box of bits on ebay for not much money at all and now we have what could be a reasonably competitive bike that stands me at less than a third of the price I recently sold my BSA trials bike for. Clearly this is why twinshock trials is becoming more popular! For more photos of the build check out www.classicrider444.com
