  1. Started by whizzy,

I have just finished screwing together my 200. It's been going on for around 2 years! I've replaced various bits, powder coated the frame, new ring, small end etc but done nothing to the bottom half of the engine. The bike ran ok prior to the strip down. Now i have no spark. I've checked the plug cap and replaced it also the plug. The coil is not orginal and is rewired as it came off. I've removed paint to ensure a good earth. Not sure of the make but it has markings for a red, green and white spade turminal plus a black cable. I haven't removed the fly wheel as i don't have the right puller. Any ideas what or how to test next?

Hi all, I own a gas gas txt pro but am looking at a fantic 200 so I can do trials with the local club............... ................ basically, is the 1981 200 a good bike and is it a good twin shock for someone that has only been riding (or attempting to) ride trials since latter end of last year? I havent seen the bike yet, but it belongs to one of the club organisers, has had an engine rebuild and has not been 'restored' thanks Andrew

I have just acquired a Fantic 50 from a friend of mine for the right price ie. Free. It is pretty rough and has a few bits missing.Compression seems good and it was running a few months ago.allegedly. Anyone on here know much about them? Spares availability etc. I do not have a lot of cash at the moment so would be a long term project.I do not know if it is worth re-building,how much power do they have? My boy is 9 at the moment but he would need to be a lot taller to use the Fantic. It is almost the height of my Sherpa. I am thinking of taking the Fantic motor out and maybe fitting a Honda type 125 4-stroke engine in it.Would make an interesting, lightweight twinshock…

I just unpacked , reassembled , and rode my new toy ... And I have one trivia ? to ask , Who's signature is that on my bicycle ? And boy am I out of shape , 3 minutes on it and I'm beat !!! I can't imagine what it'll be like when I take the 40 tooth front sprocket off and put the stock 28 back on ......... But it's all stock right down to the domino levers and grips ! Is this fantic obsession curable or do I have to go to a 12 step program ? Glenn

I’ve owned the bike for a year and it’s never missed a beat. Last week I started the bike up first kick. Let it warm up. Rode it for a short time and it started to lose power, I could only keep it alive by revving it like hell. My first thought was to clean the carb, I cleaned all the jets with an airline. I also stuck in a new spark plug. This weekend it was exactly the same, starts ok, gets warm, wants to die. I’ve checked the spark and it’s very intermittent and when it is there it seems weak. Electronics really aren’t my strong point. Has anyone experienced anything similer?

Very very slowly putting my 200 back together. Any ideas on how much gearbox oil goes in. Drained the old oil from sump. In the manual it says to pour gear oil in until it overflows from oil level plug on side casing. I have already put a litre in and no sign of overflow yet. Oil taken out only measures half a litre. HELP

Hi there, can anyone give me a base line jetting for a Fantic 307 at sea level? Full story: I've just gotten my first trials bike, a Fantic 307. It starts but it runs very irregularly, won't idle properly and finally bogs down. Compression gets up to 11 bar in 304 kicks, so that seems solid. Reed valves and intake boots look OK. I've changed the spark plug (the old one was at 0.4mm gap..?), the air filter and the air box cover rubbers. Carb and jets looked clean enough, but it's time to have a second look at the carb. I suspect the float level is all over the place. The jetting seems weird as well, so I'd like to restore everything to stock.

Hey Guys, First time posting on this forum, just want to ask a few questions... A friend of mine gave me a 1987 Fantic 303, its a 250cc 2-stroke, 6-speed manual with clutch... One problem, it doesn't start, im 99% sure its because the carburetor is clogged with dried-up 2 stroke oil. Because it has been sitting for about 2 years, not started at all while it had been sitting there... Theres a good spark, great compression, but theres no fuel getting to the cylinder... Fuel goes into the carburetor, and doesnt come out. What i would do is take the carburetor off, and clean it out, but theres another problem, i cannot take the carburetor off without removing the whole eng…

  17. Here are some piccies which i have uploaded for IVOR. I have never seen this type of conversion before? Anybody else? Apart from the fact that there is no weight of the flywheel, would it or could it work??? Be nice to her, she is like Sophie Loren, really hot in her day. One good reason to finish what you started.

lads I have just bought a 1988 Fantic 303 and have a few problems. The back wheel spindle is seazed solid, tried heat etc, I have got it to turn but thats it. The swinging arm is also stuck fast. Any ideas? The inside of the middle exhaust looks heavy and complicated has anybody ever used oxy acetalene to clean it out or how do you get into to it to repack it? Is there a way of getting the carb off without taking half the bike to bits? Thats all for now

Is there anyone on the board that lives near Bill Pye? If so, I need a big favor! I need a sidestand , spring, and mounting bracket to fit my 1997 Fantic Section. Maybe someone close to him could inquire if Bill Pye has these 3 items. I'd like to have them shipped to me in Charlotte, NC USA. Does bill accept Pay Pal ? If not how can I pay? I have had no luck finding a website or phone number for Mr. Pye. I'd appreciate any help! Cheers! Tony Powers
