Hi all, I've just bought an non running Oset 16 36v 2012 model I think. I got it to work for about 5 seconds, but now nothing. When I turn the key switch on the relay clicks and soon after the controller clicks. I'm fairly sure the batteries are good and I have three red lights on the handlebar. As soon as I turn the throttle the motor will clunk a bit and then nothing. All the connections seem ok, I've read loads of stuff about measuring voltage on the relay and controller but my relay is all sealed and not really sure what I'm doing anyway. The motor seems quite clunky when I rotate it from turning the wheel, is this normal? guessing I will ne…

Hey, I am looking to update my kid’s 12.5 Oset to the next (16) size. I hope this is an okay subforum to post this question. Anyway, I initially was looking for the Oset 16 bikes, but then I noticed there are some alternatives. Beta has their minitrail, Mecatechno has something. Maybe some more alternatives. My question is, how do they compare to each other? Here, where I live Oset is for sure the most popular, but a few hundred more expensive than Beta is (new), Mecatechno not sure is available locally. As far as I understand all still come with acid batteries, or are there any that are already with the LiPo available out of the store?

Hello! Just got a 2012/ 2013 20.0. Previous owner said the batteries are new. When I charge the bike the fan continually cycles up and down i.e. speeds then slows. Anyone know what this might mean? Seems to happen after the bike has been on the charger for 20 mins or so. I'm aware not to charege for more than 5 hours. Thank you!

good evening all. I have a query regarding brake rotors on the 24. The bike came with 180mm rotors F+R, But i have noticed one or two guys swapping them out for 203mm. Is there any real benefit to this? I understand why its done on mountain bikes, and i also understand the basic theory behind putting bigger rotors on cars and motor bikes. But is there any real benefit to be gained from installing them to the oset? All of the "proper" trials bikes i see, (sherco, beta, etc) all have tiny rear discs. In short, will i get a better bite from a 203 rear rotor over a 180? Thank you all in advance.

  14. It didn't take long to realize that we needed handguards for the 16. Our four year old was riding just outside of the homerun fence at a baseball field, and all I could think about was his hand hitting one of the fence posts. I found the Moose "mini" aluminum guards for $35 shipped, that are made for 1 1/8" fatbars. As expected, they took a lot of persuading to get them to mount up: A fair bit of bending in a vise w/ a big adjustable wrench, I had to add some electrical tape to the bar-end inserts, cutting off about 3" from each guard and drilling a new hole for the bar-clamp mount, and adding a segment of old inner tube to the bar clamps so they will resist sliding fr…

Hi, im just wondering if its just as easy as using 2 x12v batteries and run the bike or is there any kind of low voltage protection circuit preventing this? If so, what do i need to do to fix this?

  17. Tonight I noticed the relay has been clicking away on the bike while it was unattended. Upon closer inspection the battery switch was in the on position, the ignition key was in the off position, the kill switch lanyard was in position, and the lights on the throttle housing were flashing erratically. Twisting the throttle resulted in the rear wheel turning, even though the ignition switch was off. The only way to switch the power off is to either put the switch on the battery in the off position or remove the the kill switch lanyard. Can anyone help me with this odd issue please? Thanks in advance, Tony

  18. Hi All, Looking for some simple help and guidance on a Lipo Conversion. My son is very small, so I'm looking to save weight and increase range! Does anybody have a list of exactly what bits I'll need to oder from Hobbyking, to do the conversion? Understand that I'll need a balance charger and monitor/alarm system on the battery pack itself. But, what will we need in terms of connectors and the batteries themselves? Many thanks in advance! Scott

Have just fitted some shimano slx hydraulic brakes to a 2015 16.0R. Well worth the purchase. When your buying try to get a 1000mm left hand lever. This will fit perfect on the back. Shortening the front pipe is then simple and can be done without the need to fully bleed them if your careful. Chain reaction cycles and bike-discount.de are about the cheapest. Also fitted a boost battery lithium battery. Easy to fit with all connectors and 7.2 kg lighter.

Hi all, Just replaced throttle on late 2013 model because previous throttle kept sticking. Now wondering if we are getting full power that should be available. When my lad tried in the past to pull a wheelie he had to pull on the handle bars like you would on a push bike as well as using full throttle, probably what caused throttle to be faulty. With the new throttle there is no improvement in the ability to pull front end up, this is with speed switch 100%, power dial on full and throttle response dial on full. My lad weighs approx 54kg. We have had the bike a few years and he has used it occasionally often commenting that it wasn't right and now thinking I should h…
