OSET Electric Trials Bikes

Hi all, I'm looking at a 12.5 for my 3 year old son but could do with reducing the costs a little so looking for a used one. Has anyone seen any or know the best people to speak to? They dont apear to exist! Surely those with kids that have outgrown the 12.5 must want to flog them so they can upgrade Cheers.

Just found these. They are pretty cheap and very lightweight. They supposably made there own "prismatic?" cells (not A123s). They have been mentioned once here. It seems they would be a good choice for this application. But i can't find any info on using them this way. Can they be hooked in series? Charging? They don't have any provisions for BMS. They have been out for over a year now seems like someone would have tried them in an ev application by now. Somebody help me out.

Has anyone tried the lighter rear spring available on eBay for the 20R ? The stock one seems a bit stiff just wondering if anyone has some feedback thanks

I'm not willing to risk with LiPo and don't really want to geek out on stuff or have some super fancy setup. Any problem with just buying 3 of these and running in a 3s setup and then either charging as 3s or having a separate connector to charge them individually? The boys oset 12.5 24v was charging while I was working on my bike, it's a std oset running yuasa batteries which charges by pluggjng into the bike. Anyway, I was wearing shorts and my leg brushed really, really lightly on the footrest and I could feel the electrical current. When I tried it with the palm of my hand I couldn't feel anything, it could be felt using the back of my hand. Is this normal? If not, what may be causing the problem

Hello, I was hoping someone might be able to write me a shopping list for what I need to install one of those controllers to enable smooth power delivery from a standstill. I will hopefully be getting someone else to install the controller as electrics really aren't my bag baby. Looking at my local bike shop, BVM or perhaps just an auto electrician at a push. HI all, Havent had a real CLOSE look at the grips on my daughters bike yet, but just wondered are they easy enough to change? At a glance, the throttle one seems to be all one unit, with the electric gizmo/charging light bit? Would like to change them coz the original seems so big for my daughters hand, and no grip on them. Gonna try to put renthals on there. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi I have a 16.0 24v oset will a 36v motor and swinging arm fit. From what i can see the frames for the 24v and 36v are the same, but the swinging arm seems to be 3mm to wide. Thanks DAZ

Hi. Ihave a 36v oset and can get hold of 12v 9ah batteries cheap. Would it be ok to use instead of the 10ah ones and would the proformance be affected. Thanks

Little boy got brand new oset 12.5 for xmas and has prob only used for 2-3 hrs max (bloody english weather), its only been used on complete flat ground and never been dropped, the problem I have noticed is the mudguard and center rear wheel arent lined up? The chain and wheel all run true but it seems the left hand side swingarm is a mm lower than the right side so when you stand back and eye the line the wheel looks like it slightly tilts to the left(lower side). I took whole back assembly of and greased and loosened the swingarm pivot and whilst back wheel was off i placed a spirit level across width swingarm and right side is slightly higher, i then loosened the 4 nut/…

Tonight I noticed the relay has been clicking away on the bike while it was unattended. Upon closer inspection the battery switch was in the on position, the ignition key was in the off position, the kill switch lanyard was in position, and the lights on the throttle housing were flashing erratically. Twisting the throttle resulted in the rear wheel turning, even though the ignition switch was off. The only way to switch the power off is to either put the switch on the battery in the off position or remove the the kill switch lanyard. Can anyone help me with this odd issue please? Today when we loaded up to go to a nearby park, I noticed that the black plastic cap was missing from the left fork tube on my older son's 16" 36v. I looked down in, and saw that the inside of the tube was threaded, but the fork seemed to be secured in the triple clamp. We had only ridden for 5 minutes when Owen crashed going through some mulch... "Daddy! My moto is broken!" Sure enough that fork tube had fallen out of the triple clamp and the wheel had spun around like the front wheel on a shopping cart. He was fine, and the bike was OK except for the fork. Hi everyone. My first time posting in this forum, excluding the one in introductions. Recently got into trials after 20 years of road riding. Got an Oset 12.5 for my son (4), followed soon after by an Oset 20 for myself. Which the wife then appropriated Anyway, am having some difficulty adapting to the clutchless electric thing. Plus the 20 is very potent.. My reflexes feel too slow and my muscle memory too deep to adjust easily. I've had a few "whiskey throttle" incidents, especially when attempting standing wheelies. Hi, I am using the motor from a Oset 20R for a project bike (started as a kart but after getting the motor it is too perfect for the bike project). I need to reverse the rotation of the shaft, which is easy enough but throws off the timing. Does anyone have info about timing these motors? Thanks

Hi all, I recently bought a second hand 2012 24v 16.0 and are struggling to get more than 20 minutes run time, infact the leds in the throttle show "low" after about 5-10 mins. Surely i can expect better than this? So far ive tried: 2 sets of new batteries Checking for excessive drag in the drivetrain (the motor is notchy when spun but i get this is normal?) Checked the balance of the batteries Charged the batteries with a car charger as well as the oset one Any thoughts anyone? Cheers Wayne

Hi guys, this is my first post so hello from Northern Ireland. I have just bought a 2012 oset 16 for my young cub as all the MX tracks are closed and he needs something to keep him occupied while this lockdown is happening as he's driving me insane lol! Apparently the wee bike has been sitting unused for a year. I brought it home and charged it up for about 6 hours or so. All was good and I was surprised at the power delivery until the boy tried going up a steep hill. It just wouldn't pull him up. Its fine on a flat surface but absolutely useless on hills. My boy is 5 years old and 20kg in weight so surely this wee bike should be able to pull him no problem. …

Hello, Anyone here has positive experience in recovering a LiPO batt with 1 defective cell? I read you have to charge it in NcCd function without the ballance connector. But I really have no tension at all in the dead cell. The dead cell is not swollen.... Shall I try or just recycle it.... Greets
