Looking for advice on what petrol generator will power the charger for my Freeride E. I know it's not a trials bike but there is so much knowledge on here regarding E bikes. So I want to take the bike to my local MX/Enduro bike park, they don't have electricity so I can't recharge between rides. I can easily get 60 mins+ continuous ride time when I am not gassing it MX style so my plan is ride for a hour, have lunch and recharge the bike, then ride for another hour, and repeat. The charger needs 13 A steady output to fast charge, and 10A steady for normal charging. I found this article that talks about charging the battery with a petrol generator on the KTM bl…

A (trials riding) friend has asked for any pros and cons of the Oset bike against the Mecatechno bike as he is looking to buy his 6-year old son one to replace his current PW50. Any information would be really helpful.

Ok so bought my son I used oset 16 racing yesterday, after we got home he spent a good hour or so riding so I put the bike on charge, standard bartteries and charger, went to it this morning and I could smell the batteries, anyway they are now dead hot and swollen up, surely the charger would cut off when they are full? Is this my fault for leaving them on too long or a battery or charger error?

Quick question, anyone know what the legality around riding these small Oset's are in parks/commons/pavements around the UK? Don't want to be doing anything we shouldn't be doing so thought I'd check first.

**Update - Boost Bikes battery serviced the battery at a cost of £135, after one charge the battery was worse than ever and the owner has basically told me tough luck - for a £900 battery after 2 1/2 years is very poor considering the original battery is still perfroming well** Howdy folks, Recently got my Oset and it came with the Boost Battery and the original, but I am disappointed with the Boost Battery range. When fully charged it seems to get to around 56v but the bike cuts out after what I think isn't long enough given the reviews I've read online. I measured the voltage and it still at 51v? If I measure the actual OSET 48v battery, it was still pr…

I have two daughters, one who'll be six in March and the other who'll be three and a half then. I'm really thinking more of this for the older girl as the younger one hasn't really shown much of an interest in her bicycle yet. Probably a birthday present in March. What's the best size to get? Both girls are about 40 lbs. The older one is at least average or a little taller in height for her age but slender. The three year old comes up to her nose and is stockier - definitely quite big for her age. The girls love it when I give them rides on my GG 300, but standing on the outer 1" of peg is a workout on my feet. I think they'll have a lot more fun riding on their o…

I have just bought an Oset 20.0 Eco for my son. I think it is quite strange that Oset doesnt offer any Lithium batteries so now I am looking for a new battery. LiPo seems popular here on the forum but I had a LiFePo4 36v 20Ah on the previous 16.0 that I was very pleased with. Looking at the very skillfull boys in videos like this: makes me wonder; what batteries are those guys using?

My son (8 year, 30kg) rides MX but also has an Oset 20.0 R for technic training at home. It is a MY18 (bought 2019). We are the 2nd owner. I didnt reflect over top speed when I bought it because I didnt knew how fast it should go and had no speedometer. I have had a feeling during the whole Spring that something is not right with the speed. It only goes up to 21km/h while it should be speeding over 50km/h. The bike feels very strong, both when it comes to power and response. But I have nothing to compare to, so maybe it should be stronger. What I have done is, bought new batteries (it didnt help). I also screw down and put together the whole bike (and …

Just curious why this forum is 99% Oset. After looking at the two smallest models for my 3 year old I was pretty unimpressed with the build quality on the Oset. Ended up getting a Kuberg Start and he's rocking it. Don't get me wrong, both are great bikes and I'm very pleased to have a choice of small electric bikes for my son. Just curious if there was some reason unknown to me why Oset seems to be the preferred brand.

  15. Hi All, Hoping for a little wisdom. My lads 20" stopped running the other day after riding with the rear brake dragging a little. Anyway, the current situation is, the keyswitch powers on the throttle LED's showing full power but the relay doesn't click. I've checked the switch feed to the relay and I don't see any voltage. The switch feed seems to originate from the controller, so my only thought is that the controller is goosed. I've also tried another set of batteries just in case they are on low charge. Any other thoughts? Cheers, Wayne.

Hi I am new to this forum and trials in general, I normally ride enduro or rally raids. I have ended up here because; My eldest son (6 years old) moved up from a PeeWee to a Beta Mini trial, this meant his little brother (3 n a bit) could inherit the PeeWee. Unfortunately the youngest is very small and can not manage the PeeWee, then I spotted one of the 12.5's at a Surrey School Boys events a couple of weeks ago. It was 50/50 between putting up with the PeeWee or getting an Oset until I found this forum, reading back through the messages made up my mind we now have a new 07 12.5 being delivered for Christmas. This is either going to be magical or war as the Beta…

  17. Just got a new 36v Oset for my son and we love it! One small issue we have, though, is harshness of the throttle at very low speeds. It's not bad for general riding around, but it definitely makes practicing things like small circles a real challenge - I can only do them using a lot of brake to modulate speed instead of the throttle, and my kid can't do them at all. I've read elsewhere that this is just the way it is on this bike - it might be something we have to live with, and the rest of the bike is so good that we're certainly willing to do so. But we'd rather not - has anyone had similar issues and found ways to improve? It really is a lot of fun, makes me want a…

I have used the search facility (but as a techno phone ) without success.. Does anybody use a 24.0 R for adult trials ? Is it compliant with regs (minimum weight , tyre size etc) As a worn out old codger I was considering having a wobble around easy rout adult trials on something really light , and by the looks of them , well capable trailer .. Thanks in advance D.

Hi All, My son has a Oset 20 Racing, I believe it’s a 2016. He’s been competing in schoolboys events for approx. 6 months on the bike, the club has acquired a new piece of ground which has more hills. We went to a trial last Saturday at this new venue. When my son opened the throttle the bike accelerates as it should and he was carrying enough speed to easily reach the top, but when he’s nearing the top of the hill the bike completely cuts out, no power at all and he falls off, when I picked him up the bike worked completely as normal. All it needed to "reset" was to close throttle. The bike did this on every largish hill for the next 4 sections, event…
