Sidecar Trials

Hi to all of you chair enthusiasts, I'm after some advice to get us going. I've ridden solo's to a reasonable level in the past but have been road racing for the last 20 years. For some reason my wife has desiceded that having a go a trials both solo and sidecar would be fun, (probably got something to do with me having two big crashes at the Manx Grand Prix in the last four years) we get a chair next week. I still have my old Fantic 309, my original plan was to bolt the chair onto this just to start with. However having looked round this site for a bit I am starting to realise how old it is! hi guys just out of hospital with a rebuilt leg ,with a late greeves anglian and a chair ready to fit ,i fancy a last fling before i get to old ,so what i need to know is what events are running next year ,championship or others ,something like the original series that deryk ran a few years ago ,i have spoken to a coupe of the riders i am still in contact with and at least three crews are coming out of retirement so it is going to happen , and we are not just going to make up the numbers , will

I made a start on my next sidecar project today. Been making the brackets and re-enforcing the front frame legs of a Beta Evo. Every thing so far is made from 3 mm flat bar. ether 30 mm or 50 mm wide. I will also be replacing the left hand foot peg hanger with one I am fabricating out of 5 mm x 50 mm flat bar. I will keep you all up to date with how things go.

is anyone still doing side car trials in europe? I thought side car trials was all but dead, I recently saw an article in the AMA magazine where they were riding a big event at the ile of man, I have never seen a trilas side car rig in person, always thought it looked like a lot of fun, I have not seen any mention of on trials central

The Mel Harrison sidecar national, the ninth in the series, ran on without a hitch after after weeks of heavy rain on Sunday at Kingstone Farm, Fellbeck. The twenty-eight crews applied themselves to the task admirably and were rewarded by opportunities to take points that will keep the championship alive. Having had a try in the chair last year I am putting an outfit together to move from solo into sidecar next year. I have managed to get a very nice rushton clair off of a club member and am planning to pair it to TYMono I have in the garage. The rear shock is shot to pieces and once the outfit was paired with two riders the bike pitched right over to the right with the inside of the mudguard on the tyre! As the replacement mono shocks for this are getting scarce I have planned to do a twinshock conversion on the TY and would appreciate advice on shocks? The main thing I assume is spring weight? My bultaco has been the base of this project and its not quite finished but here is a few pics. Thanks to paul and bultaco uk for the help I first stripped the bike to a rolling chassis. Lined the chair up and prepped for welding Took lots of measurements and got the thing ready to be welded. More pictures to follow

Hi guys, My friend and I are both proficient solo riders but have always fancied a go on a sidecar. We recently purchased a 280 climber with Rushton chair to have a go. We both loved it and have begun to attempt some harder sections however, we are having problems going up small steps/logs. When we 'launch' the third wheel hits the step and throws the rig to the left. What should the passenger/rider be doing as we hit the step? I assume the passenger throws there wait behind the rider? The chair has a falcon 10" shock that is virtually rigid. I plan to send this off the falcon shortly to be serviced and maybe have a softer spring, but have been told the spring should…

Hi Guys , We would like a few, if possible, Trials outfit's used in the sixties, to come along to the Classic Trials Show, to go on show, or the owner could even ride it in the Sidecar class if they wish, there would be a prize for a bike that was built and used in the Sixties.
