Hi Andy
They are tight! If you have an arc welder, if you run it around the old bearing face it seems to heat the bearing locally and it falls off.
Alternatively, you can cut through it very carefully with a disk cutter - take care not to catch the stem or yoke !

I've been lucky enough to have been allowed to enter a D5 bantam framed Sunbeam/tigress in the Scottish. Fingers crossed for an entry, very interesting bike!
All proper racing brakes, eg. Fontana, Oldani, grimeca etc had cast iron liners.
My worry with cast iron would be that it rusts very quickly, would definitely need wheel removed after every wet trial.
Original bore clearance is 1.7 thou I'm told (by the gents at inmotion) that's all the rebore shop should need to know.
Sounds quite tight to me, I'm having mine done to that spec but need to warm up gently....
What did I do to my Bultaco today?
I tried very hard to break it at the acquaduct classics trial. Great trial but expert route bit beyond my modest talents - very slippy rocks
Bike survived a few falls but puncture 2 sections before the end stopped play...
Give some trials bike to holiday resort 'center parcs'. More fun than the crap quads or Segway and kids would get started young. Probably electric would be ideal
