3. Will Marsh – “I was raised as an only child, which really annoyed my sister.”

I have not stripped a sherco engine but I am intrigued how what you say can be the case. The crank chamber is under pressure and I would therefore assume that the bearings are open on the inside and are lubricated using the oil/fuel mix and are sealed on the outside to contain the pressure. I cant see how a single bearing can be lubricated using both the oil/fuel mix AND the gearbox oil as the gearbox oil would just be drawn into the crank chamber?

He is riding the Junior route so see you there

I just got an OSET 36V for my stepson whos just turned 6. I think the bike is pretty good although it could do with a smoother controller to get it to accelerate softer. its turn and your off - hang on ! I know you can adjust its top speed with the potentiometer but its not enough. But hes loving it

My Niece has broken up already and so has my stepson.
I didn't go but wish I did

For once in your life and particularly in this thread, can't you just say well done to Ross for winning a BTC round which is a fantastic achievement considering the quality of the opposition and not turn this into another attack on the BTC competition as a whole !
-
That is mere conjecture on your part. You say that as a result of reducing the severity AND changing the rules this has resulted in the lowest entry at the round in Devon yet you haven't taken into account other key factors like the distance to travel, the costs and maybe as this is a traditional holiday period so maybe some riders are on vacation etc etc.
You simply cannot make such a bold statement like that without something to back it up! over to you ...

Please allow me this blast from the rooftops ... ROSS DANBY WINS A BTC ROUND ... Woohooo - Top ride matey
I bet Steve Saunders is well happy too
-
My last bike was a 2009 300cc Gasser and that had been softened a lot with barrel base gaskets, slow throttle and low compression head and was lovely to ride for the likes of someone like me who is pretty average
I now have Ross Danby's 2012 300 tuned by Ross' dad Mick Danby and Jeez what a difference! Its got everything on it to get maximum power but the big difference is how its delivered. When you flick the throttle the power is instant and i mean instant! In anything other than 1st gear it will wrench your arms off! It's really way too much for me but I'm having fun trying to adapt to it without killing myself

Breidden Hills was my old club that Elwyn Beedles and I use to run... Its been closed down for a while now and unlikely to get back started again unless someone wants to do that. If they did then I would be willing to help them...

I'm predicticting you will see Bou on a Jotagas at some point

I think you will find that I didn't say anything about the rules. I merely stated that the majority of riders who wish to ride it should be consulted and the vote goes with them. But the important thing is simply that the severity of the sections must be significantly dropped so the riders can safely enjoy it
-
You never were a graphics wizz though by your own admission. The important thing is though, it worked !

Recently I asked how many trials riders there were in the UK. The general answer was about 8000 (ACU). Of that 8000 there are 4 riders who are competing on the world stage at the top level. That's just 0.05%! So on that basis, it would make sense that the BTC should be aimed at the majority of riders who do not compete on the world stage regardless of the views of the top riders. With some very very good riders scoring in excess of 100 marks this weekend surely its time to significantly drop the severity of the sections and get more people safely enjoying it?
-
Thanks for posting John. The figure of 8K you suggest is as good as a figure I'm going to get so thanks for that
-
Its funny but there has been many a mention of the demise of trials but no one can say how many trials riders there are in the country today, so on that basis how can anyone give an educated assessment without hard data ?.. Bike sales don't tell the story as there are as many older bikes still going as there are newer bikes. I'm not sure anyone really knows... but it would be good to know
-
Firstly, thanks for all the helpful comments above
Secondly bilc0, I'm not sure why you should think that and why the ACU shouldn't divulge this information! If you want to see my company's balance sheet you can go to companies house and see it along with every other limited company's balance sheet.
I have in the past purchased a set of accounts for the ACU to see how they spend the money (which anyone can do) .. Interesting reading I have to say
-
Is there any data showing rider statistics in the UK? I assume that the ACU / SACU have numbers based on licence holders. Is this data available? Then there are quite a few who don't have this and still ride plus other organisations like the AMCA.
I want to build a picture of the size of the UK trials market for some 'research'
Cheers in advance
Ian
