We usually have a couple of self-markers, obviously you can't mark yourself, but one of the riders will pick up the clipboard and mark a few through then someone else will come along and do a few more, and so on. Nice for a break sometimes too, as long as everyone who rides is prepared to lend a hand.

Just spoke to MRS, the guy in the workshop that I spoke to said that whoever had the bike before me must have retarded the timing and I need to check it.

Hi All,
Gutted, went out for my first trial on a 2005 Sherco 290 I recently bought, had a good 3 hours riding and then sat talking to someone on tickover in neutral for 5 mins or so, then I opened the throttle to clean it out and it wouldn't rev properly, there was a kind of delay on the throttle, I opened it wide open and it wouldn't rev out fully, so I decided to take it for a run up the track, but when I put it into 1st gear and released the clutch, it set off in REVERSE!! so I killed it immediately, and since then it won't start?!
Any suggestions as to the cause much appreciated!

You really need to test ride them both mate!!
I had a go on a 4RT and liked it, but it felt like it would take a lot of getting used to. something I can do without when I'm only just really finding my feet on a 2 stroke.
Never had any experience with scorpas.

You got the video you bought from me on Ebay then?
-
-
Done!! When do I get the logo?!

I can't find it only a spare parts list?
What I need to know really I suppose is the fuel/oil ratio, and which settings are on, off & reserve on the fuel tap.
Anyone help please?
Cheers

Hi All,
Just got a 2005 290 to replace my old Beta 270. Loving it!
I'm looking for an owners manual for it, so I've been on the Sherco website and had a look for one on there, but they only give downloads up to 2004, does anyone have a copy of the 2005 manual they can email me?
Cheers!
Andy

If you're a novice, As Telecat says, this is a club trial with no easy route.
The beginners is later in february.

Yeah did look an absolute beaut mate, sure you'll get these problems sorted easy

I think it's true, when I roll up to a trial on my beta, I have to beat the birds away with a stick. They're all going....
"Is that a 270? Can I have a ride? Can you show me the carb mod! Can you take a pic of me with your bike?" etc etc...

I had problems before xmas when I took my bike to a training day only 5 miles down the road, wouldn't start for ages, I took the spark plug out, warmed it up at the end with a lighter and put it back in and it kicked over 3rd time after that
-
Did you buy it from NC/NCB Racing off ebay? I was bidding on that but it went for more than I expected.

OK Thanks lads, swinging towards buying a 2005 250 now rather than brand new, I really think I'll be too worried about smashing up a brand new one hehe

Hi All,
In a bit of a quandry at the minute, I've got a 2002 270 which has so far cost me an arm and a leg in parts, mainly due to the electrical problems on older beta's. So I'm looking to buy a newer model.
Do you think it's best to buy new or buy one that's a year old or so and let someone else take the depreciation/vat hit?
RPM are doing 0% finance on 2006 REV-3's at the minute and I'm seriously tempted.
And if anyone's interested in a 2002 270 with new electrics give me a shout
