  4. Mate enjoy your new bike, it's nice to have something new that's not going to let you down all the time, and now you can concentrate on enjoying your riding. And Happy Birthday for yesterday
  5. Can't see it running too well with no chain on
  6. Next door neighbour had the same problem, the plug had cracked, but it's hard to see.
  7. How much did the Stator set you back, think I'm gonna need one
  8. Pah what a stupid comment! We all know that Herbal Essences Guava and Pear is the only choice for fluffy bar pads, it's in the manual.
  9. We used my dad's airhammer and then tightened with a torque wrench to 73ft/lbs. The first thing we checked for was the woodruff key but it looks fine, still sat in it's slot and all intact. I was hoping it was that but it wasn't
  10. I've spoken to a couple of dealers today, they're all suggesting the stator is knackered, the guy I bought it off had retarded the timing, and it looks like he never put the o ring seal back on the ignition cover, there was all sorts of mud and water in there. Reckon it's knackered it. Taking it to MRS in the week. And it's getting a kill switch!
  11. Don't know why I didn't put my foot on the back brake? Kick my own ass time. How would I know if there's no compression?
  12. OK guys, this is driving me mad now. Had everything off and reset the timing back to factory settings, put a new plug in and flywheel back on, tank back on, started up second kick and ran perfect on the stand. had to turn it off by putting a cloth over the exhaust as there's no kill switch. Put the mudguard back on and the flywheel cover and now it won't start at all!?!?! What the....?!??!?! Any ideas anyone?
  13. My mate got a load of them when he was selling his car, we actually got one of them to send the cheque and then phoned the company who it had been stolen from, they were totally unaware their cheque book had been stolen. Its called the Nigerian 419 Scam http://www.419eater.com/ http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/07/09/419_scam_anatomy/
  14. You would need to signup as a TrialsCentral Supporter, which is explained HERE Hope this helps, Andy
  15. Ah I love my 100Mb Netflex t'internet connection Cheers Heath
  16. Awesome, thanks for the help lads, supplement downloaded and printed off.
  17. JLI are really helpful, they didn't charge me labour when they fitted my stator as I was having such bad luck with my bike
  18. Cheers Steve, I'll get their number on speeddial ready for when I get it apart this weekend Thanks mate! Andy
  19. Thanks mate, I've already downloaded that file from the RYP website, but it's for 2001-2003 machines. What's different on the '05 models from the guide? You say there's no alignment holes? Cheers Andy
  20. Hi Lads, My Sherco decided to engage reverse gear on Sunday I spoke to MRS and Appleyards who were both pretty confident it was the timing. I've purchased a flywheel puller, but the RYP guide says I need a dial indicator and a timing pin to be able to set the timing back to the factory settings. Does anyone know where I can get them from? And any tips for setting the timing? It's the first time I've ever done anything like this Cheers Andy
  21. I always make a point of thanking the observers at each section on my last lap, the least I can do. Only problem is, I've usually broken down before starting the last lap so they don't get their thanks that often
  22. Surely putting a piece of shiny silver duct tape over the sponsor's name only hightens the interest and urges the viewer to find out what they're trying to cover up.
  23. I really like the new Sherco's could see myself buying one in a couple of years, got an 05 290 at the moment and loving it, apart from it going in reverse on sunday There were a few there on sunday and i really liked the look of them.
