Hi PeterB,
You are completely correct
The bike had been previously setup for about 12mm....so it runs like a mini rocket now
Many thanks and best of balance.

Good-on-ya sectionone and kot !!!
I notice the difference in the fuel weight/height too. But then I only weight 57Kgs myself and I do ride a Sherco
sectionone...Can you please explain how your fuel gauge works? As I'd like to do this on my daughters 02 TXT70.
EdHolland...I've been thinking of making a Kevlar tank caver. To directly replace the crappy decal (that's wasting away) on my daughters bike. Is that something you can do? Or provide advice on?

Thanks for your reply Peter,
I must admit I'm a bit surprised at 3.5mm. As the stops are currently about 14mm and I know a Sherco 80 are 19mm.
We are talking about the same thing?...these are the metal flaps that are either side of the reeds on the reed block?

Hi,
Does anyone happen to know the measurement for the Reed case stops (in mm) for a 2002 TXT70?
Also, I'm told that this Motor Morini engine is the same as the one fitted to pre 1998 KTM65...can anyone confirm this?

Try this lot......
With a fresh tank of fuel. Make sure you have high(est) octane fuel with an 80:1 Synthetic oil mix. Then rev her up, really high, for a few seconds and she how she runs then.
If no change.
Remove the carb/inlet manifold and check the reeds are closed.....if not, buy new ones
If no change.
Buy a Flywheel puller and retard the ignition a few millimetres....read the Sherco notes on this:-

I second that motion!!
borus, I think you'd be better spendig your money on a PWK 28 Carby. Or Leonnie ignition system, than messing around with the barrel.

Has anyone checked out this company?

You might note that they have a reed specific to "Low to Midrange" ...the 113LT
And the wallet stuff might be better too

The marine grease and anti seize mix is the most beautiful substance you can imagine .....it's a life saver and I use it on every bolt/hole and bearing I un-do.
Trust me...it works a real treat

Hi copemech,
Yep, on my 06 Shock. I got the spring out with ease, once I'd dropped the spring down and removed the wire/clip thing.
I've not touched an 07 Shock, so I can't comment. But it would be easy to check, once you've dropped the spring.

An update on the link above
http://trials.com.au/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1087
But it's important to understand that there's a 3 way balance, between a well lubricated engine...a bike that "shoots off" from cold, when first put in to gear....and a clutch that has a progressive action (without squealing).
Castrol EDGE Sport 5W-30 provides that balance to me. ....but I have had no success with any 10w-40 oil.

Sorry...just to clarify this.
I mentioned the grub screw as a way of identifying the late (year) 06 Shock.
It's the bottom end I need off, not the Spring compression ring.
Sorry for the confusion.

Hi All,
Has anyone managed to get the bottom end off of a late 06 Shock?
This is the shock with the grub screw, pictured.

This is in the "Clutch Disc Replacement Manual.pdf" off the Sherco website.
<<Install the 6 clutch springs, tighten the retaining bolts evenly, just as they were removed. Tighten to 5 ft lbs (7 Nm)>>
Not sure if the others are that critical??

Here's my suggestion
Castrol EDGE Sport 5W-30

Believe it or not, it's the best thing for a Sherco since sliced bread.

Bugger, bugger, bugger...
It didn't work...it had no adhesive properties on the Sheco plastics what so ever .....I may have well been using water!!!
I've got a GG airbox to fix....so I'm hoping it works better on their plastics.
Any other suggestions gents?
