Hi Steve, Best to join the Montesa yahoo group meantime, as swoosh says its been a bit quiet recently, but there is a few very knowledgable members in the group. Most of the real Montesa info/parts etc is Spanish based . Which is to be expected i s'pose...
P.S if i aint phoned you re. airbox by monday night remind me by email

Whats the point of comparing a "new updated modern chassis, modded steering geometry" blah blah, with ACTUAL period standard twinshocks?
Other than to show off what a NEW twinshock might be like if manufacturers hadnt stopped the concept 25 years ago....
Personally my bestest Montesa cota 330 is a gem of a bike..

That chassis number is well into 349 territory, double check the inlet manifold between carb and barrell, 348 stub is part of barrell , 349 is a 2 bolt on stub. Whats ebgine number?
looks like a mongrel of 2 or more bikes to be honest!

Slight guess here but i would try ep90 gear oil about 300cc , seems all this era montesas list this type/quantity. Also remember that the clutch/primary drive has its own oil ..

If its the same as the cota 349, i have a couple of 349 parts engines which should have at least one shaft between them.
send me a pm if you want ...
