Steve Sell s email is steve@marlimar-uk.wanadoo.co.uk He has always been helpful with me. you could get a new spindle turned by an engineering company, it would have to be the right grade of steel though. (I don't know what grade though?) Stephen Bisby.

  3. My entrys in and I am looking forward to riding there again mud, rocks and streams, all very natural. This club always held one of the best falcon rounds. I rode in the Red rose twinshock trial in August and found it great, it was a shame it rained so much but it did improve for the second lap. I got my entry form from the Hillsborough mcc web site. Steve. 8ugger, due to an unforseen family situation I wont be able to ride now.
  4. Number 11 is John Lampkin, there is another photo of him a bit later in the same section on page 3 in the Fantics section riding with the same number 56. Number 14 the rider crossing the river a wild guess John Shirt senior???? Number 16 photo is John Renyolds, i think it is the Allan Jefferies trial i rode very near him that year and the silencer broke off his Bultaco and i think he put it in someones garden to retreve later- his bike sounded fab later in the event up a long hill climb!! Number 17 photo is Roy Parmer, same trial. Number 18 is Chris Sutton. differant trial to the others above. Stephen.

    Mar Gearbox Oil

Hi Mudyman, I have not used motul transoil before but if its ok for the clutch as well as the gearbox i would think you would be ok. I find when i try a light gear oil i get a lot of clutch slip but when i put in a 20w50 multi grade from the local car spares shop it is great, i have a standard ossa clutch but when i next change the plates i am going to try a barnet clutch which i think you can use a lighter weight oil. Steve.

    Mar Gearbox Oil

I have a gripper 250 which has a different case (smaller) and i put in 900ml so i just drain all the oil that is in and then pour 900 ml through the alloy cover, i dont worry about the level. Steve.
  16. Fantastic filming and how you have trained the two honey bees to carry a camera is amazing I also like the views of the riders on the moorland crossing, brings back good memories of why i liked the scottish. Thanks Stephen.
  17. I have done 12 or 13 ssd trials (lost count?) yes most of the sections are rocky stream beds but if the weather has been dry ish there wont be much water. There are sections bases on rock slabs again stream based and as the photo above some are gravelly worn paths up steep hillsides. I havent done the scottish for 12 or 13 years but the last two rides i carried an old 35mm compact camera with me to record the views we encounted on the route because to get to the top of some of the hills would take you forever on foot, it was a privilege to compete and i have a lot of good memories. If you are considering having a go do so! Stephen.
  18. Picture number 4 is Adrian Clarke and pictures 5&6 is Tony Scarlett and i am watching him on the left next to Adrian and Gerald Richardson. I am guessing 1983 or 84 and pos Allan Jefferies, or Wainright? Stephen.
  19. Picture number 3 i think is Mark Kent? dont know where or when but a good photo! Stephen
  20. The picture of Rob Shepard above (Number 18) his riding number is 51 and on page 1 number 13 he is in the same brema one piece suit and riding number 51 and you have that event as the Allan Jefferies 1978, i think its the same event. Stephen.
  21. Picture 30 is Walt bullock and Brian Pearce on a Yamaha, i dont know where or when though. Stephen.
  22. The rider in number 37 looks just like the rider in number 36 posted on 26th march (Peter Cartwright?) 1979 Northern Experts. Good pictures!! Stephen.
