If they use part of their body to gain an advantage then it's certainly a dab.
-
The '05 was the last of the curvy bash plates. Having never stopped onthe edge of a rock, it's not a problem to a wobbler like me.
-
My '05 bash plate is 260mm at its widest point.

Blimey! World domination and destruction all because they made a cheap trials bike
-
Is a stationary dab not a two? Or are we on the stop allowed version?
If so.... Got off lightly there.
As long as every rider was marked the same; it's fair.
-
You wouldn't say that if you'd ever seen me trying to ride my mates Raga 300! I'm not just a danger to myself, but anyone within 50yds. Pass me a slow action throttle... quick!

I think the plain 'British Racing' green (or near to it) colour looks really good.
As for painting the helmets, almost all road racers have this done and have done for years, so I can't see the problem there.
Concerning contracts. Any helmet supplier would surely be delighted to have one of their supported riders riding in a British team and give up an extra lid just for the occasion to be painted. That has to be good publicity for them.
I'd like to start a 'keep the green' campaign.

oooh matron
Any volunteers to observe?

I agree; take a careful note of your base settings before you start and note everything you do.
Another really good tip I used when road racing was to make big changes at first. This will give extremes of the adjustment your making; you will be clear as to what effect the adjustment makes, then you can then come back in smaller steps to the point where you started.
Road racing is a little less 'seat of the pants' than trials, because you can see the changes in lap times or tyre wear, however taking notes and trying the bike could well make a worth whle difference.
At the end of the day, you can always go back to your base setting and no harms been done.
-
As far as tyres are concerned, the rules stipulate that a rear trials tyre must be fitted. At our event you (probably) would get away with a very road orientated trail tyre if you had a 17" rear wheel on the bike due to the fact that all trials tyres are 18" but definately no enduro/mx knobblies I'm afraid.
We will make the OK Supreme LDT bigger and better next year. I'm sorry for all the riders who had entered but the Solihull (false) scare was just the final straw for our land owners and you can't really blame them.
Thanks for your support.

Congratulations to Iris.
But what a bizzare situation. A world championship decided by a single section?
A world championship decided over just two trials is strange but for the tie break to simply have been the one who won last... now that's bizzare!
-
Yes, you're right. However it was the same course for everyone to ride.... sometimes it's the easy sections that decide an event.
-
Subject to confirmation, it looks as if the Stafford Auto Club will now be going ahead with their round of the Midland Centre Group Trials Championship but now on the 28th October!
This date was to be a Stratford-Upon-Avon Club trial which will not take place.
-
Yes, they all do have problems in some way or other plus individual bikes sometimes suffer more than they should.
I switched from a 2 year old Gas Gas which I'd had from new because all of a sudden things started to wear out all at once, despite meticulous maintenance.
I swapped to a new Beta Rev 3 and the stator packed in twice in three trials; so as far my experience goes, the Gas Gas started showing it's age at two years and the Beta at Three trials!
I know that's not a fair revue of each marque... it just goes to show how peoples opinions and experiences do differ. Every bike will have it's bad points, just try to weigh them up for your budget and requirements in an objective manner.
-
Well done to Iris Kramer for taking the Ladies World Championship in the Isle of Man riding for Scorpa!
-
I'm on my sewcond pair of old style Novogars, I really like them but the soles do seem to wear out quickly. The latest versions are supposed to have longer wearing soles but my word are they stiff when new! White does seem to be the colour this year.

After a great deal of discussion and heart searching, the Stratford Club committee feels that it is not in the best interest of the club to reshedule the OK Supreme LDT to run on the 28th October. Those riders entered will have their entries returned forthwith.
On behalf of the Stratford Club I would like to thank those who put in so much hard work organising the OK Supreme and to the 116 riders who entered. We look forward to running a bigger and better event in 2008.

Here's one I made earlier.
-
Yes, I think they would make a brilliant Long Distance Trials bike!
-
No they're not that bad, it's just that people who've had bad experiences always seem to make the most noise.
Just like people who've had BETA REV3 STATORS GO seem to make a lot of noise too......
and they're not that bad either... are they?
-
Absolutely spot on Vicx, we took the decision to cancel our National last week end for exactly the same reasons. Dispite having a good number of 'non farm' land at our disposal, we just couldn't risk alienating the local farming community by taking the chance!
If an outbreak had come to the area after we had run, then you can bet we would have been blamed. Better safe than sorry... no matter how much it hurts us, it's better than the alternative

Geoff along with Peter Neale, was the voice of the TT for many years.
Dashing up and down the pit lane during the races, Geoff had a real knack for being in the right place at just the right time to catch the racing dramas as they happened, he was always able to maintain a seamless dialogue, despite being surrounded by dozens of machines speeding in and out of the pit lane.
When being interviewed by Geoff, his ability to recall your racing career was amazing.
He will be missed. Sad news indeed.
