Honda/Montesa want everyone to ride a bike like the World Champion, trouble is he's on a Gas Gas.
After the might of HRC can't get a fourstroke to the top, what chance have the other manufacturers got of making a 4t that is better than the 2t's?
I think they're here to stay.

Following some discussion on another thread recently, concerning the severity of Clubmans championship rounds, are these events limited to one single route or can organising clubs include a non championship B route if they wish?
As is the case with many big events, the Colmore Cup suffers from the vast range of riders abilities. Whilst the top 10 or so find it a fairly pleasant ride around, there are a good number who find the going more of a challenge.
There are almost certainly a number of riders (genuine club level clubmen and ladies) who would also like to ride in these events but feel they are too hard.
Single lap road trials such as the Colmore are a lot of work for the organising club and might benefit from the increased financial income that a full entry would bring for a little additional work.
The Stratford-Upon-Avon club would seriously consider running a B route in next years Novogar Colmore Cup IF it is allowed?
Would it be a popular move if allowed?

Years ago I had a 315 and always had the same problem until I broke the folding bit off.
The remaining mounting lug was perfect for my clumsy feet.
I never did replace the folding bit and never caught the back brake by accident again.

Trouble is that when you get the new plastics, you won't want to get them dirty, so you'll take them of and put the old set back on to save the new ones!
-
Get some black Fablon, print off the size of letters that you require, stick them to the Fablon and cut around.
You can make any size you need that way.
-
I'd love to see it in action.
Scorpa have got some crazy ideas, have a look at this on youtube.

Please, please, please Beta, all that work and development; please use some stators that last for more than 5mins.

Buckland near Broadway
Multi Map link:
Top Farm Buckland
Follow the road through Buckland village, keep going up and up. Top Farm is at the..... Top!
Look for Buckland Wood on the map.
We will be working on the 2007 Colmore sections on the steep wooded part of the venue if the weather is reasonable.
The trials practice area, which is lower down, is also available if you don't fancy the steep stuff.

The provisional dates have been announced for the Vic Brittain- 7th Jan, the Colmore- 4th March and the Victory trial- 22nd April.
All three of these Midland Centre events will be Novogar rounds in 2007.
-
Yes, but there are no trials on Sunday because it is Remembrance Sunday. Where as there are trials on 11-11 which is Saturday.
So that is why we're going to have a ride at Top Farm with a short stop at 11.
All are welcome
-
Anyone fancy meeting up for a practice session at Top Farm on Sunday?
We will stop at 11 am for three minutes official silence to remember those who have given their lives for our country.
I will open up the steep part of the venue so that we can practice on the part used for the Colmore cup in March, if anyone wants a bit more of a challenge than the regular trials practice area.
Let me know if you are interested and I'll make the booking, or you can book yourself on 01386 858191 it'll cost just

Couldn't get the day off work this year... the first time in many many years.
Hope you all had a great day
-
Move up when you get a chance to ride with a club that you know at a venue you are familiar with, then at least there is less chance of a nasty suprise.

The Cheltenham Home guard LDT is one of the more competitive events, there was only two sections that I couldn't get through on my DRZ400 this year.
The Stratford-Upon-Avon club run the OK supreme LDT in September (for which I open the course) and I got through every section in that one (apart from going the wrong way, which is a different issue)
I also competed on a Gas Gas Pampera for a few years and they are the business if you want to be competitive.
Riders on Pamperas (and Alps) regularly clean LDT's, however they are not so good on the road parts of the course.
I enjoy the challenge of riding a 400 in these trials and love having an electric start but when it falls over it's a long way down!

Ohh dear. I recently mentioned that Top Farm near Broadway sell some lovely home made cakes.
Oops, there I go again!
-
Just an idea that might be worth a go... eliminate the sender and try it again.
Simply disconnect the two wires and join them together.
It's an easy thing to do and costs nothing but just might point you in a different direction, if the fan then runs at a constant speed the sender or the connections might be breaking down under load/ vibration.

It's the last round of the 2006 Midland Centre Championship, if by then I'm out of the running for the over 40 runner up spot (There's no way I'm going to beat Clive Charleton anyway) then I might miss out this one and do some video filming.
I'll have to find someone who has a decent digital camera because my cheepo goes too dark under the trees and the 'good' (read bad) sections are all under the trees at Shennington.
Remember... we're due a wet one this year!
-
Funny how this topic has re-surfaced alomst 12 months on. Plans are inplace for this years RV and it will be at Shennington again on 11th Dec.
We will be really pleased if Ross or Alexz ride with us again this year

There are a few LDT's. Some are more of a competitive nature than others.
The Cheltenham Home Guard club and the Stratford-Upon-Avon club both run events with 30 observed sections, these are fairly serious and are part of the ACU's trail bike championship.
To be in with a chance of winning you really need to be on a Beta Alp or a Gas Gas Pampera but if all you want to do is have a great day out on a bike then a classic trials bike or even a large enduro bike is fine.
I have ridden in a few this year on my DRZ 400 Suzuki and usually loose about 15 to 20 marks (a few more if it's a wet day.)
Yamaha Serrows are also very popular and Honda SL230's seem to do very well.

Purchased a jack up stand at the Dirt bike show last year. Simple pivot arm with a nylon wheel running under the upper shelf. As it passes the centre line of the arm it locks itself into place. Simple really.
The most amazing thing of all was the price.....
-
You wait until you get to my age, I don't need spectacles, I only wear mine for seeing!
-
As one gets older it is common to need glasses, I can always send out a set printed on a poster if that will help
Sorry Tone, I've not managed to get the full results on here or on our own web site yet. My very limited computer knowledge sometimes stops me from doing the simplest tasks.
However, Dai Collins has kindly posted a set on his trials web site at: daicollinstrialsrider.com
Stefan Walters had a brilliant ride to clean the B route, there was lots to take odd marks. Malcolm also rode very well loosing just one in second overall. He really put me in my place this time.
