  1. That was lucky, I registered a TTR enduro bike last year (I've also done my trials bikes a number of times , which already have a cert.) Yamaha verified the age as mentioned above but they charged me the 'standard'
  2. Dave Moy from the Stratford-Upon-Avon club has an XT250 engined TY250 which was around in the very early eighties. I'm not sure who built it originally, but I remember seeing it in the shop window at Cotswold Motorcycles in Gloucester in about '82. (Opposite what is now Toys R US) I have a feeling it may have been something to do with Malcolm Davis; but that could be totally wrong. Someone from the club usually gets the pleasure of riding it in the Sam Cooper Union Jack Classic trial as a no award Special.
  3. Being quick on an enduro bike has **** all to do with Trials, ask Knighter he was 53 minuits slower than fastest man last year. Grimbo was / is quick on a trials bike without Enduro experience. Not withstanding the fact that he rode a good distance on two flat tyres!
  4. Thanks for the plug Just. You looked like you had things well under control when I was watching you. You made sections two and three look really easy on the A route. Alan Taylor was also going very well on the B route riding his BSA, he only dropped one. I finished on five at least. A well set out trial with three routes on offer, congratulations to the Evesham club for staging such an enjoyable event. It is nice for me to ride in a trial and be back at home by 1pm!
  5. Thank you very much, I couldn't find it anywhere and didn't want to bother a dealer on a Saturday.
  6. I have been asked to adjust the valve clearance on a mates 125 and don't know the valve clearance. Can't find it anywhere. Can any one help please? It is a swine to start when cold, I was thinking that the valve adjustment might be a factor in this. Once started it goes first kick, even when it cools down. Leave it for the week and the problem comes back. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks

Mate of mine asked me to do some work on his 125f Can anyone tell me the in/ex valve clearances for a standard 125 please? Hot or cold? Thanks
  8. If we could find an organisation... say Army Cadets, who would be intersted in being Observers for a decent donation to their club funds that would be ideal. Supply seven or eight Observers, five times a year and recieve
  9. If we tell him that all these extra easy route riders will be buying lots of kit from TRICO after the trial, that would definately help!
  10. Yes, I agree. IF the Colmore is a 'stand alone' National again in 2007, there is no reason why we couldn't put on a yellow/green route. If it is a Novogar Championship round, we would have to go with the ACU's decision on the series. And remember.... the championship IS the clubmans, so it should already be the appropriate severity. (We all know that the Championship is a bit hard for the average clubman, which is where a second route makes sense.)
  11. We give Observers a free entry for a rider. I don't think this in its self attracts any more observers but it certainly makes it easier for me to approach people when I am offering
  12. I would really like to make the Colmore a two route event, however the man to convince in reality is Alan Wright. We are waiting to find out if the Colmore will be a Novogar round again in 2007. I would hope that it is and in that case it will almost definately be a single route event..... Unless the ACU stipulate a second route for over 40's etc. If we're not given a round again, then there is a chance that we could put in a second route. I am usually responsible for setting out some of the sections, it is actually easier to put in two routes than one in my opinion because the lesser lights won't be doing the hard route. I'll get back to you on this. Pete
  13. stick the boards out and observe each other. Saves a lot of stress for the hard working officials.
  14. Try http://www.lionroyal.co.uk Perfect for trail riding and I think Toms farm is in that area too although I've not been there myself.
  15. Excellent value for money. I took this picture of Steve at Top Farm near Broadway during one of his schools.

With the old plug back in it ran ok, the new plug must have been breaking down for some reason. However, when it was choking up, it certainly did run better with the airfilter out completely. The filter was quite wet with oil, we got home and washed it out with petrol, then hot soapy water, dried it and put it back in the bike dry. Standard 122 main jet with 2 1/2 turns on screw. It now seems to run a treat (ie: better with the dry filter) it ticks over better than before and bottom end throttle response is much smoother. Open to suggestions on this. Dry or wet?

Dodgy NEW spark plug ended proceedings early today at Kinlet. Such a silly thing ruined the day, by the time we got back to the car to change the plug at the end of the first lap, it had stopped in three sections. 15 marks lost just because of an intermitent plu problem. On another issue.... Right down at the bottom of Kinlet, (miles from the car) we tried removing the air filter to see if it was causing the problem, sure enough the bike did run better for a while. Maybe the filter was over oiled. Someone suggested running the filter dry as we rarely get any dust in this area. Has anyone tried this? Does it effect the running very much?
  18. By the time the ACU send out a hand book to every trials rider, I shouldn't think there is an awful lot left out of the original tenner we pay. Now- road racers etc pay a lot more for their licences than we do for our registration. I wonder who is subsidising who?
  19. Well Scorpa3 could be a real name. Mr & Mrs Scorpa3, 5 The Ends, Little Dabbington, Off the Easy Route, Nr Enfield, Shercoshire TL125 4RT

Has anyone got any other useful tips for the 'o4 Raga? The proof will be in the eating on Sunday, we're riding at Kinlet in the Midland Centre Championships and Kinlet is known for being muddy when it rains. And it sure has rained this week!
  21. Yes. Disgraceful behaviour, it should be compulsory for everyone to have a unique and interesting name. Some people have no imagination. Cheers from Scorpa3....... oops!
