  1. If I was DL, I'd be signing up AR today. Let's face it, JD is a superb rider but, he's not likely to win anything on the world stage, probably won't even get on the podium, whereas AR is a cert for the podium and can win world rounds when TB is having a bad day. He wants to ride and would give Vertigo some good publicity without spending too much cash (he hasn't got much on offer at the moment). James and Adam would be a good combo for vertigo and a win in an outdoor round would be great for the bikes launch along with Dougs SSDT win.
  2. Rumour has it, a new competition version will be released this year. So maybe a big bore motor with HRC kit. We'll find out pretty soon, maybe it will be enough to tempt McBou to stay ;0).
  3. You must be gutted, I nearly bought this bike, mark, the guy that built it Australia did a superb job and you must have been very happy when it turned up in the UK. I really hope the low life who nicked it realise what they have done and either return it or get caught. (It's actually an 89 bike, ref the frame and engine numbers, plus a few other 89 parts I can see, rear brake carrier etc). Hope you get it back very soon.

    That's the standard 2016 model you've shambled across ;0)

    4Rt Engine

The manual says every year and rings every half year.
  7. Probably one of the best I can rember for a while and I'm well chuffed with the result.
  8. I do understand were your coming from concerning pot hunting and obviously a good 13 year old rider will be more physically able than most the creeking (falling apart around the seems) old boys, but It doesn't matter about age, what counts is enthusiasm and enjoyment, one day he may be running a club, clerk of the course, observer Nd still riding when he's 65. Surely, as has been said, when you sign on at a trial, you accept how the organisers of the trial wish to run it, if you don't like it, go somewhere else, but the most important factor is having fun, enjoying yourself and not taking it TOO seriously. Mr Bliss doesn't do himself any favours, as he annoys quite a few people with his antics on and off the bike.

    Honda Tlm260Rf

How much do you want it Joe, it's worth what your prepared to pay, as there won't be any prices in a book or anything. There aren't many around and I believe parts are even harder to get hold of than RTLs. Lovely looking bikes IMO, especially the Pentax ones but as Narita said, not that good to ride (or something along those lines ;0).
  10. I'm not into classic trials, but if your building a new bike, that never existed prior to now, then surely it can't be classed to ride in classic trials. Even if it's twin shock, it's still new, I would have thought that atleast the engine and probably the frame would need to be old (classic) for a bike to be considered a classic trial bike. If it's the bike I'm thinking about, then that's not related to any old bikes, is it ? Why can't you just ride in club trials with it. Why, if it's supposed to be a cheap bike for people on a budget, does it have to be allowed to ride against old bikes, isn't trials all about the skill of the order against the course.
  11. Been there, done that, when I was looking for something smaller and more economical than a T5. Bought a caddy maxi life so I can do 60 on A roads and use the outside lane of a motorway. Insurance is cheaper too.
  12. Lee 28 will be able to answer that question, but I know several people who have them. I have a caddy maxi life and 2 bikes easily fit plus a 3rd seat.

    Rtl Oil Cooler

Your bike is very nice and thanks for the photos, but can you give some technical information please. Why have you choosen to do it like you have etc.
  15. Section fails at Barcellona WTiC. Busto, Dabill, Karlsson, Ferrer, all failed every section, Fajardo only got through one section and Cabastany two sections. In the final Cabastany and Fajardo failed all but one sections each. I don't want to belittle Bou's (and Raga's) skill and effort, but thats not entertainment or a good championship, when most the riders can't complete a section.
  16. If you've ever bought anything from Banyeres, you'll know how difficult it is reading/understanding an email, he speaks very good English, but emails are

    Rtl Oil Cooler

Valter's and JKMR1's are the bikes that has inspired my RTL. I'd like to keep all 6 vanes if I can, I have an idea on how to mount it, but until I've tried it with the header pipe (waiting for it to arrive) I won't know if it fits or not. I have been told that RTL's run very hot and also you have to be careful with oil pressure, so plumbing the oil cooler needs to be done right. It would be nice if those who ride RTL's could give their thoughts on what they have done etc, as I'd really appreciate it aswell as others, I'm sure.

    Rtl Oil Cooler

An oil cooler can allow the engine to run upto 30 degrees cooler, (I know I won't get the maximum benefit of an oil cooler on a trials bike due to lack of fast airflow, but it will be better than not having one) which is beneficial for the engines life, the clutch etc. Obviously it doesn't have to have one, but when these engines have many parts that are no longer available, it makes sense to prolong its working life. Weight can be reclaimed by saving weight elsewhere, but these bikes weigh over 85 kg anyway and as I intend to ride my RTL regulary, piece of mind is worth the extra weight and cost.

    Rtl Oil Cooler

Thats great JKmr1. Can I ask, did you use the 8mm sealing plug on the crankcase as shown in the diagram above? I want to put the cooler inside the down tubes. I believe you did it that way, as that was the only oil cooler you could get, if I rember rightly.

    Rtl Oil Cooler

Thanks for the link b40rt, I was thinking of routing the oil pump feed to the top of the oil cooler and exit out the bottom to the head feed, just like the last post showed, so that oil would stay in the cooler and almost immediately feed oil to the head on start up. But in the parts list of the manual there is a diagram that shows (if I read it right) that it feeds oil in two directions, one to the bottom of the cooler, the other to the head and the oil returns from the cooler to the blanked off oil hole in the front lower part of the crank cases. Not quite sure if it the blank on the front of the clutch cover, or the front crankcase with the bolt in it. Trouble is, I don't think there are any original bikes out there (89) that ever had oil coolers, as it was (afaik) an accessory. All the oil coolers I've ever seen have been from another source. Has anyone got a genuine Honda RTL250 oil cooler fitted to an 89 bike? An experts opinion would be much appreciated. (Edit went through the manual again and after the transmission diagram and specification data, I found this info, DOH) so I think I now understand, but any real life experience would be great.

    Rtl Oil Cooler

I've finally found an oil cooler for my RTL, it needs modding for oil line fitment, but should fit inside the front frame rails next to the header pipe. I would really appreciate advice on connection from the engine and back. I see most people have taken the output from the bottom case oil hose point to the bottom of the oil cooler and the hose from the top of the oil cooler to the head banjo point. My question is, will all the oil drain out the cooler and hoses to the sump everytime the engine is shut off and will this cause oil starvation on start for a short period :0( if so, for how long. One final Q, does the oil pump Ok for any size cooler or should it be relatively small. Is there such a thing as a one way valve for oil coolers? Any advice would be much appreciated. This cooler is about 150 x 30 x 40mm.
  22. The problem seems to be that I'm sending replies on the reply tab on offroadmart, but it appears no one is receiving them. I just sent out new messages asking if they can confirm if they've recieved the message.
  23. I got parts for sale on offroadmart and have had 4 people wanting parts. I've replied using the message tab, but no ones responded, so can any of you who sent a message please check to see if you've recieved anything from me.
